William Wells Brown: How I Got My Name
  • Thursday, February 15th - 7:30pm - Lucille Caudill Little Theatre (Breckinridge Hall). This FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC event is a portrayal of Kentucky's Chautauqua's " William Wells Brown", the first published African American novelist and playwright performed by Virgil Covington, Jr.

CommUNITY Conversation: Mobilizing Unity in the Community
  • Tuesday, February 20th - 4:00pm - Button Drill Room. Join us as we discuss strategies and best practices on how we as a community can mobilize toward UNITY. Community mobilization, simply put, is action stimulated by the community itself. This includes mobilizing necessary resources, disseminating information, fostering collaboration, and cooperation across our community.

Soul Food Dinner
  • Tuesday, February 27th - 5:00pm - Button Drill Room. Join us for a traditional SOUL Food Dinner. Experience delicious Soul Food and entertainment. Limited seating is available so please contact The Eagle Diversity Education Center (EDEC@moreheadstate.edu) to reserve your seat before Monday, February 12th.

Film Series: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
  • Wednesday, February 28th - 6:00pm - Radar 111. The true story of a woman's search for enlightenment about her mother whose 'immortal' cells would save millions of lives. Henrietta Lacks was an African-American woman whose cells were used to create the first immortal human cell line, known as HeLa.

  • Resume Blitz - February 21st (Wednesday) and February 22nd (Thursday) from 10am to 2pm in the Career Services Center. Students may drop by and meet with an employer to get instant feedback on their resume.
  • Career Fair - March 6th (Tuesday) from 10am to 1pm in Laughlin Health Building Gym. Over 90 employers with job and internship opportunities plus graduate schools are expected!

Celebration of Student Scholarship
The 13th Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship will be
Wednesday, April 25th, 2018

Student participants (both poster and oral presentations) must use the Abstract Submission Form on our Celebration webpage to submit abstracts of work to be presented. Abstracts must be submitted via e-mail attachment to: ugrc@moreheadstate.edu . The maximum length of abstracts is 200 words. In order to allow time for the abstract booklet and program to be printed, the deadline for submission of abstracts is Monday, March 19, 2018, by 8:00 AM .  
 
Document Services (Allie Young 14) will print student PowerPoint posters free of charge if submitted no later than 4:30 PM on Friday, April 20, 2018 .
 
No exceptions or extensions can be made to the deadlines above for abstract submissions or for poster submissions for printing.
