Membership Drive

2020 IFMA Seattle Membership Drive While membership in a local IFMA Chapter is always worthwhile and rewarding; these turbulent times make connecting with fellow peers in the facility world, whether as an associate or a professional, downright critical. Combine this fact with the urgency now required when it comes to sharing new or established “best practices” and the benefits of joining an organization like IFMA and IFMA Seattle become invaluable. In order to enhance the membership of IFMA Seattle, and as a way of saying thanks to our current and actively recruiting members; IFMA Seattle is pleased to announce our 2020 Membership Drive. Current chapter members will be rewarded for bringing in new chapter members in a tiered fashion; All current chapter members will be eligible for reward for the first 2 (two) new chapter members they sign up ( Limit to first 100 current members). The first 10 chapter members that bring in a third (3rd) new chapter member will be entered into a drawing for $500 towards any IFMA function. Each current chapter member that brings in one new chapter member will be given credit for a Lunch & Learn. A second new member signed up will earn the current member a credit for a Lunch & Learn PLUS a $25 IFMA credit (to be applied to any IFMA function). A third new member signed up ( BY THE FIRST TEN (10) MEMBERS ONLY!! ) will earn the current member a Lunch & Learn, PLUS a $25 IFMA credit (to be applied to any IFMA function), PLUS a chance for the $500 IFMA credit (to be applied to any IFMA function). Seattle Chapter of IFMA Community Service

Our IFMA Seattle board elected to donate the lunches we would have purchased for in person board meetings to Seattle Children’s Hospital Healthcare workers. We reached out to the facilities team at Seattle Children’s and they connected us to the team to help coordinate. On May 4 th 40 lunches were delivered and were well received! “We are so very appreciative! It’s always a treat to see the smiles on staff.  Thank you so much more supporting them in this way. It means a lot.” We were so glad we could help and will look for additional opportunities to help our community when possible.

Our committees are central to facilitating the activities and events that make membership in our chapter valuable. Committees are the backbone of our chapter, shaping the conversation in areas that matter most to our members. Membership Committee Chair Cindy Strickland - Knoll Email Maintains current membership information, and establishes goals for increasing and retaining membership. Responsible for welcoming new members.

Education Committee Chair Melanie Danuser - Smart Buildings Center/Northwest Energy Efficiency Council Email Provides information and advice to members seeking CFM certification and maintains relationship with UW Facilities Management degree program

Associate Committee Chair/ Poker Tournament Chair Jay Arcarese - Rentacrate Enterprises, LLC Email Coordinates chapter relations with allied and affiliate members. Sponsors annual event in June and holds several mixers throughout the year. Heighten public awareness of IFMA and chapter events through press releases and maintaining press contacts.

Golf Committee Chair Jose Diaz - Siemens Email  Organize and administer our annual golf outing. This is our major fundraiser for the Chapter Community Partner and the Sander Abrams Memorial Scholarship benefiting the U of W Certificate in FM program.

Programs Committee Chair Jackie Roethel - Evolution Architecture Email Develops program topics and obtains presenters for monthly meetings each year. Organizes the annual calendar of events.

Sponsorship Committee Chair Tara Galang - Corporate Care Email  Establishes sponsorship programs, advertisers, etc. Generating revenue for the Chapter. Proposes new fundraising opportunities to support Association programs.

Credentialing Committee Committee Chair Robert Blakey - Strategic Equity Email  The committee works specifically with education regarding the credentials classes supported by IFMA.

Meet our Newest Committee Members

Dan Tran - Programs Committee Dan Tran is an Account Executive at MacDonald Miller, where Dan provides account management to commercial clients in the areas of HVAC solutions; smart building controls and services. Dan has over 20 years of experience in the building controls industry from designing and managing control systems to selling services, equipment, and smart energy controls. His expertise helps clients find the most effective and cost-efficient solutions for managing commercial buildings. Dan is originally from the New England area and is a long-time Patriots fan. He currently lives in the greater Seattle area with a family of three kids and a super sweet black lab.

Andreas Winardi - Programs Committee Andreas Winardi is a Sr. Energy Engineer for Siemens Energy Performance Solutions Pacific Zone, where he inspire Facilities Manager and Building owner to pursue energy efficiency and sustainability, by optimization and correctly implement process, equipment and technology that affect the triple bottom line (People, Profit, Planet). His territory covers from Alaska down to California, Hawaii and Guam. Andreas have 15+ years in the industry and have work for Fortune 500 companies and local utility provider. Andreas have a Master in Mechanical Engineering, and MBA. He is a license Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Energy Auditor (CEA). He live in Puget Sound area, love the outdoor and hoping that basketball (aka Sonic) will be back to Seattle soon.
