With help from the Kamloops Sports Legacy Fund we are excited to announce that we are able to host Dave Freeze for an Introduction to Sport Psychology Lecture on April 3rd from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at the Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association.

The mind is a powerful force and can both help and hinder performance. This lecture investigate how the mind can positively affect overall performance and enjoyment levels in sport. We will look at six foundation models that support physical learning and speed up the attainment of skill. We also look at building mental practices that support learning such as positive self-talk, the development of patients and how to manage the stresses that naturally come with physical activity in challenging circumstances.

Cost to join us for the evening is $15/person - proceeds go to KTRA's therapeutic programs.

Registration is required - email Ashley at [email protected]

***Dave will be offering a Riding Clinic on Saturday, April 4th at KTRA: Introduction to Equestrian Mental Performance Workshop. Participants will learn about: setting and attaining performance based goals , visualization to increase confidence and reduce anxiety, moving through fears and dealing with challenging horses, staying positive and using self-supporting techniques, getting the best out of training sessions and coaches, memorizing courses and dealing with competition nerves. These will be one-on-one sessions.***

  • Different visitor profiles and reasons they visit your area
  • Products and services your community has to offer
  • Where to access information and how to provide helpful service to others
