I hope this message finds you and your family safe and well!

As we head into our second official day of spring break, a time that typically allows for things to slow down for a minute to reflect, we want to send a giant thank you to our entire FVSD Family for the work they have done over the past month!  Although it is hard to believe that we have been out of our normal routine for that long, I want to share how inspired and humbled I am for the random acts of humanity that I see each day!  From our teachers who are passionately working at home to deliver strong instruction, to our food service workers, site leaders, custodians and maintenance and operations staff who ensure we serve 2,000 meals each day, there is a lot to be grateful for in FVSD.

I hope that you find this week's optional activities to be a break from the norm, and  thank you for your ongoing commitment to taking care of each other, as we continue working through this very difficult and unique time!

With gratitude,

Mark Johnson, Ed.D.
Superintendent

DISTANCE LEARNING: For the Week of April 13 - April 17
Spring Break at Home

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, travel and vacation plans for this week are all on hold. Well, not if we can help! This week's Distance Learning Activities have been designed to provide students with experiences that are educational AND entertaining. We focused on providing links to videos - which can also serve as great discussion starters as you plan for future vacations. If you're looking to add an academic twist to this week's videos, encourage your student to write/draw in a journal to highlight what they have learned.  See our Distance Learning Activities for Spring Break here.
CONNECT: Take Flat Stanley and Flat Stella Along for your At Home Spring Break Adventures
Flat Stanley
Flat Stella
Spring break this year, of course, looks different than in years past.  But, we hope that as you find creative ways to enjoy the week with your family (hint: check out our Distance Learning Activities for Spring Break!) that you take us along!  Print out and color Flat Stanley and Flat Stella and photograph and/or video them joining you on your at home adventures!  Email your photos and videos to [email protected] so that we can include them in our next Constant Contact video. Most of all, enjoy the week, safe at home!
TAG IT:  Join Us in Celebrating The FVSD Way!
The FVSD Way
Our theme for 2019-20 is The FVSD Way!  We have taken the time to study our history, analyze the present and continue planning for the future.   We hope that you will join us in documenting how you celebrate "The FVSD Way" by capturing the amazing moments in our school year and tagging your photos on social media #TheFVSDWay  #FVSDDriven #WeHeartFVSD.
