General Manager's Report


Here are the major updates from the August 23rd Board of Directors meeting:


  • Fireworks contract approved for 2023 with same vendor.
  • Approve field rental contracts for fall season of Loudoun Soccer, Soccer Shots, and Potomac Riverdogs.
  • Approve Virtual Meetings Resolution.
  • Approve signs to be installed at the pollinator gardens.
  • Approve refurbishing of the clock tower at the Sports Pavilion.
  • Approve additional work to correct the epoxy floor at the locker rooms and indoor pool hallway of the sports pavilion.
  • Approve opening up the after school child care program to Cedar Lane and Stewart Weller Elementary Schools for the 2022-2023 school year, to try to fill available spots.

Virtual Board Meetings Resolution


The Board of Directors recently approved a virtual board meetings resolution to bring the Association into compliance with the Property Owners Association Act and continue to hold virtual meetings. It also sets rules for conduct at meetings.

FACILITIES & GROUNDS


Projects completed this week by the Facilities and Grounds crew include:


  • Painted fire lane at end of Victoria’s Cross Terrace
  • Rebuilt bridge # 31
  • Replaced light in Lakes rec center
  • Repaired lights on light sweep list
  • Started painting the pressure treated wood at Fincastle field
  • Replaced 18 13ft light poles 

ANNUAL ARCHITECTURAL INSPECTIONS



Annual reviews are in progress. It's a good time of year to walk your property. Please remember to put your trash cans away promptly and mow your grass regularly. Thank you for maintaining your home.


Streets recently completed include: Pandora, Antiquity, Downingtown, Norwich, Flattop, Frogtown, Hilary, Cobham, Quiet Walk, and Cuba Mills.




AVCA inspectors have right of access on lots while conducting architectural inspections. We will not enter fenced yards or stand on decks.

Anyone for Tennis?
Looking to add more tennis into your life? Wondering who's available to play? 
Join fellow residents for a Meet-In Tennis group on Tuesday evenings from 6--8 PM at the Lakes Rec Site. If you'd like to join in, please reserve your spot by contacting Susan by the Sunday evening before Tuesday play at sfrankgodfrey@gmail.com.
Our first meeting is Tuesday, July 12th! This is not instructional and is for residents 18 years and older. See you on the courts!
Pickleball at The Woods
Please join your Ashburn Village neighbors and friends for pickleball at the Woods, Sunday mornings from 8a-11a. With several courts available, there will be courts designated for both ‘beginner’ and more advanced play. Hope to see you there!

Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion

Important: Please note there will be NO HOT WATER in the facility from 10am-2pm on Wednesday August 31st due to maintenance.

Ashburn Village SPORTS PAVILION Activities


Reminder:  the outdoor pool and Marina is now only open on the weekends from 11am-5:15pm 


We will be offering a Student Holiday Camp on Friday, September 2nd and Monday, September 26th from 8am-6pm. Camp will offer outside play on the patio and Gym games in the gymnasium, Arts and Crafts held in the aftercare classroom, Pizza served for Lunch and swimming in the indoor pool in the afternoon. We will wrap up with a movie to finish off the day. Cost for camp: $50 for first child; $45 for siblings. If you are interested in enrolling or have more questions please contact Youth Program Director, Erin May at emay@ashburnvillage.org


Looking for Aftercare this Fall for your children? Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion has openings and registration has already begun. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 2:45pm-6:00pm. We have bus transportation from Ashburn Elementary, Dominion Trail, and Discovery. We offer afternoon snack, homework help, STEM, outside and gym games provided daily.

Back to School Teen Weight Training Hours start Aug 25

  • Monday - Thursday 430p - 630p

Teenagers between the ages of 12-15 are able to use the weight room & cardio area without parental supervision during the designated time if they are teen weight trained certified. (An AVSP trainer or fitness attendant is on the floor during this time.)


Note: Any time other than TWT hours, teen must be under the direct supervision of the parent (which means the parent must be near enough to observe and assist if needed).

FRIDAY SHOUT OUTS

Ron says, "I just wanted to send a shout out to Stana and Her Guards at the Woods pool on Saturday evening. The Guards noticed a leak in the ceiling of the Woods pool pump room and immediately informed Stana who then informed me. This is the type of service we expect and appreciate. Thank you for protecting our residents and our assets.
