Thank you for working with us on the transition back to school. Class placements were sent out last Friday, March 19th, and we will not be making any further changes as we prepare to welcome students back after Spring Break.
A few reminders:
-

-
Monday, April 5: New AM/PM in-person schedules begin for kindergarteners and fourth grade students. New class assignments for distance learning also begin for these two grades.
-
Monday-Tuesday, April 5-6: All students in grades 1-3 and 5-8 return to distance learning for the beginning of the week.
-
Thursday, April 8: New AM/PM in-person schedules begin for grades 1-3 and 5-8. New class assignments for distance learning also begin for these grades.
-
Wednesdays remain asynchronous learning days for ALL K-8 students. Assemblies, garden, PE, and STEAM classes will continue.

The Daily Wellness Form needs to be completed daily, before your child comes to school. Please bookmark this link.

To sign up your student for COVID Testing, please complete the Curative Authorization (English Form | Spanish Form) and return to Anna or Charlene.

RCSD Spring Break Travel guidelines
There have been recent conversations with site administrators and district leadership over the change in social distancing from 6' to 3' and what it means in terms of student capacity in the classroom. For now, we continue to follow the San Mateo County guidelines (currently 6') and plan to reopen after Spring Break in this capacity. I will keep you updated on any changes, should they occur, when we return.
The staff and I look forward to welcoming your children back to campus after Spring Break.
Practice deep kindness and take good care,
Diane

PARENT SURVEY ON PTO-FUNDED PROGRAMS & POSITIONS
Important Parent Survey Closes Tomorrow
|
|
Every year, the PTO strives to enrich the school experience of our K-8 grade students with programs, activities, and staff positions that compliment and enhance the academic curriculum at Roy Cloud. To help guide funding decisions for the next school year, the Parent Survey on PTO-Funded Programs & Positions must be completed before the spring break.
Your feedback is essential for the next school year!

Remember, we are all a part of the Roy Cloud PTO – no membership required! From art and music to PE and STEAM instruction, every one of us has a say in the various programs the PTO supports.

Congrats to the Jog-A-Thon T-Shirt Design Winner!
|
|
We are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2021 Jog-A-Thon T-shirt design contest is 1st grader Reagan Gotelli! Congratulations, Reagan! Her winning design will be on the 2021 Jog-A-Thon T-shirts. Pre-orders for those T-shirts will start soon.
|
|
The Jog-A-Thon is one of the students’ favorite events of the year. Now that we have a winning T-shirt design, the students will next collect donations based on the number of steps they can run, walk, skip, or gallop during the week of May 17-23. They will reach out to family, friends, and neighbors to support them and our school programs. New this year will be a special scavenger hunt event for the whole family! Stay tuned for more information.

SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL
Walk, Don't Drive, to School
|
|
One of the most positive side effects of the pandemic has been that we got out more, enjoyed nature, and took advantage of less traffic on the streets. With many kids coming back to school, let's keep this trend going! If you're still working from home, take the opportunity to walk your kids to school. Walking has many fringe benefits and helps kids, teachers, and parents alike. Visit our Safe Routes to School page to find information, links, and our proposed walking routes to school. Do you live farther away? Just park your car along the way and join us in walking!
