A Look at Youth and Mentoring
In July 2020, CHE funded the creation of the Lincoln Youth Mentoring Coalition.

This group, representing 26 organizations in Lincoln, has been hard at work to better understand the “state of mentoring” in Lincoln, and to provide specific recommendations for improving mentoring services going forward.

This is a first of its kind project for Lincoln/Lancaster County. Read more about the project and the study results.
Should I Wear a Mask or Not?
It Depends.
Confused about whether or not you need to wear a mask in any circumstances? You're not alone. While the Lincoln and Nebraska mandates may have been lifted, people ask: do employers and businesses have the right to set their own requirements?

And, what about traveling on airplanes or public transportation? What about kids and those who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated?

Local and national experts answer those questions in our Health and the City column in the Journal Star, co-written with LNKTV Health. Read our column.
Community Crops

The COVID-19 pandemic has put a spotlight on the importance of local food and Community Crops is drawing on its eighteen-year history to help.

Community Crops will be tripling their food production spaces in the next year through a combination of greenhouse, garden, farm, and other urban agriculture spaces - and moving to a new space on the NeighborWorks campus. Read more.

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health, wellness, and fitness of Lincoln's children, families, and seniors.

We work to improve wellness policies and conduct community level health research. We collaborate with community partners to promote healthy weights through good nutrition and fitness, improve child and maternal health by supporting breastfeeding, create better patient outcomes by increasing cancer screening and vaccination rates, improving chronic disease management, increasing preventative outreach, and standardizing clinical practices. During public health crises like the COVID 19 pandemic, we help to protect community health by providing science and evidence-based information.

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln also works to improve health equity in our community, addressing disparities among racial and ethnic populations with the highest burden of chronic disease.  Systemic racism is also a threat to community health. We stand in solidarity with everyone who is fighting for greater equality and justice for all.
