“Look for the helpers,” Mr. Rogers said. When I joined the team to revise First Universalist’s Children’s Faith Development policies, I didn’t expect the kids in our church to be the helpers. They were.
Speaker: Tess McFarland-Porter

We are cancelling in-person worship for the foreseeable future, and taking our worship experience completely online via Zoom. We will hold on-line services each Sunday at 10:30am (our regular time).

Join a Small Group Ministry!
If you haven’t taken the opportunity to be a part of a small group ministry thus far, now is a great time to stay connected this way. Our Small Group Ministries are able to meet online over Zoom and Rev. Michelle is happy to connect folks who are interested in meeting together for support, spiritual nourishment, and sharing with one another. Here’s a link to a survey to indicate interest and availability.

Wednesdays | Midweek Meditation
First Universalist Church will be hosting Midweek Meditation services with Rev. Lane and Rev. Michelle on Wednesdays from 11:30am-Noon. Just a brief time to connect for deep breathing, meditation, singing, and silence. Look on the First Universalist homepage for details and a link!

April 22 | Earth Day
Earth Day is April 22, and celebrates its 50th anniversary. We will have a story that honors the occasion in the April 19 Sunday service. And to help you celebrate all month long, Rochester People’s Climate Coalition has an Earth Month Menu at rocpcc.org/earthmonthmenu. There will be something for just about everyone on the menu, so enjoy helping out our Goldilocks (just right) planet this month.

May 16 | Eunice Eckberg Memorial Film Series: When They See Us
We regret that the scheduled film for April 19th had to be cancelled. Wilderness Journey is important – it will be re-scheduled for review in the fall. Melissa Parrish, our discussion leader, suggested that we watch the four-episode series of When They See Us on our own, and meet via Zoom to share thoughts and reactions. She and Rev. Lane are facilitating this conversation. When They See Us is a 2019 miniseries created, co-written, and directed by Ava DuVernay for Netflix. It premiered in four parts on May 31, 2019. It is based on events of the 1989 Central Park jogger case and explores the lives and families of five male suspects who were falsely accused and then prosecuted on charges related to rape and assault of a woman in Central Park, New York City.
