Message from the President/CEO
As we march toward spring, the Chamber is focusing on our next big event: Small Business Awards Luncheon and Showcase .

This is our annual tribute to the small business community. It will be held this year on May 1, just a few days before the country marks National Small Business Week.

Our event is a great opportunity for business owners to increase their visibility and strengthen their brand. We start off the day with a showcase featuring 50+ vendors. Read more .

Partnering with the Buffalo Museum of Science
to Create Culture of Health in WNY!

At Independent Health, we are dedicated to improving the health and wellness of Western New Yorkers. By collaborating with various organizations across the area, we’ve been able to make it easier for people of all ages to get more engaged in their own health.

One of our longest and most valued partnerships is with the Buffalo Museum of Science. Here’s how we’re working together with the Museum to make our community healthier:

NEW! Wellness Walks at Tift Nature Preserve
Independent Health is proud to be serving as the presenting sponsor of the new Wellness Walks at Tift Nature Preserve. This weekly initiative kicked off in January. The Museum operates Tift Nature Preserve, a 264-acre urban wetland preserve located in South Buffalo. Walks are held every Thursday morning, from 10 a.m. to noon, and are led by knowledgeable volunteers from Tift.

Explore YOU
Explore YOU presented by Independent Health is a Health Sciences-themed studio within the Museum. Since 2012, Explore YOU has given visitors the chance to explore all there is to know about the human body and examine important lifestyle changes they can make to improve and maintain their health. Interactive exhibits give a hands-on approach to learn about the most recent advances in medical technology, as well as all the achievements in health science that have been made in the Buffalo Niagara region.

Community Health Day
Independent Health is also the presenting sponsor of the Museum’s annual Community Health Day event. Held every January, Community Health Day provides families with the opportunity to adopt healthy habits and make positive lifestyle changes together. Plus, admission to the Museum is free for this special day.

In addition, as part of our partnership with the Buffalo Museum of Science, Independent Health members can save 10 percent on an annual membership to the Museum by showing their member ID card!
Thank You Investors!
