National President
Colleen Orfanello
Dear members,
I was honored to be the MOPHA representative in Arlington last week. The privilege of honoring our nation's Heroes during Veterans Day was the highlight of my year. I hope that each of you will enjoy the slide-show presentation and vicariously witness this most amazing experience through my eyes.
It is the month to be "THANKFUL" so I would like to extend a huge ""THANK YOU" to Colorado's Chapter 375 for sponsoring the Wreath laid at the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington. Photographs of the wreaths will in the slideshow.
Many of us participated in Veterans day activities across the Country and we look forward to hearing about your projects during this month's zoom meeting. I am grateful to all of you for continuing our mission of serving Veterans in need.
On this month's Zoom meeting, we will be sharing information about many exciting things such as the upcoming MOPHA virtual Raffle, Pearl Harbor Activities, Our MOPHA Store (that is taking a little longer than expected), available grant funding, and we will also be sharing stories of gratitude and thankfulness.
I'm looking forward to virtually visiting with all of you this Thursday. In the tradition of the "Bee" theme, let's showcase how our members are "BEEing THANKFUL!"

National Senior Vice President
Kay Jo Baucom
Kay Jo will be participating in the Pearl Harbor Parade embarking from the Hale Koa hotel on December 7th. We will be very excited to witness the event though her eyes during the 80th anniversary of the attack. The attack on Pearl Harbor and the Purple Heart Medal have a very significant connection. Did you know that the Purple Heart Medal was first awarded to those killed in combat due to the attack on Pearl Harbor? Because of the mass casualties, the award was first posthumously awarded to military servicemen and women who are killed in service or died as a result of their injuries.
We can't wait to hear updates on this once and a life time experience. We are "THANKFUL" to Kay Jo for her enthusiasm and for being the MOPHA representative during the 80th commemoration event.

A PRAYER FOR OUR VETERANS
We as citizens of the United States of America join together to pay tribute and celebrate our esteemed Veterans of our great nation humbly pray Lord God to thank you for the opportunity to come before You to lift up those who selflessly gave, and continue to, so freely their service and in so many cases their lives for the freedom we live and enjoy today. We pray that we come to realize that we should engage in recognizing Veteran’s Day (also known as Armistice’s Day) as an everyday event because none of us would be able to live the lives we lead now without the sacrifice, duty, dedication, courage, perseverance and commitment that our Veterans have given. Almighty God, we say “thank you” to them as well as their families before the “In God We Trust” - YOU. We ask that we prove ourselves worthy of the sacrifices made on our behalf and to set an example for those that will come behind us as a legacy. May this prayer reach not only our strong, brave, reliant defense Armed Forces team but to all who are exposed to being in harms’ way (law enforcement, first line responders, defenders/rescuers of all people) to stay covered in Your armor. May You, Lord God continue to protect and bless America and may America bless You God! Father, sincerely we pray with gratitude to You and because of Your sacrifice. Amen.
