Campus Update #17: Resuming In-Person Instruction 2/1
To ACPHS Community,

Here is a brief recap of the health and safety protocols we have in place to help protect our ACPHS community for the spring semester.

Resuming In-Person Instruction 2/1
We will be resuming in-person instruction on Monday 2/1 on both our Albany and Vermont campuses. We are looking forward to continuing our blended curriculum delivery model which includes three options: blended with both in-person and remote classes; partial blended with all classes remote and only labs/experiential in person; and 100% remote.

COVID-19 Testing Required Before Returning to Campus
Before returning to campus, everyone is required to get a COVID-19 test and upload negative test results to Share My Health within two weeks of campus reentry OR be cleared for reentry by Michelle Parent or Wendy Parker.

Additional information regarding this testing requirement was sent to students from the Office of Student Affairs and to employees from the Office of Human Resources. These communications also included details on the updated travel advisory and quarantine requirements issued by New York, Vermont and the CDC.

In addition to this pre-semester testing requirement, we will continue to perform surveillance testing during the spring semester. For questions regarding testing, email [email protected].

There Will Not Be a Spring Break
To reduce the risk of members of our ACPHS community contracting and spreading the virus, we have decided to eliminate spring break. While there is great restorative value in having a break mid-semester, after much deliberation we decided that the risks outweighed the rewards.

Winter Sports Cancelled
We have also decided to cancel our winter sports (men's and women's basketball) to do all we can to protect our community. If conditions improve in the spring, we will look to schedule a condensed season. We are also in the process of evaluating whether to open the fitness center. It is our hope to open the fitness center at some point in the spring semester, but we will approach this decision with an abundance of caution.

We continue to closely monitor community transmission of COVID-19 and all relevant guidance. It is crucial that we all do our part to protect our ACPHS community. This includes completing the daily health screening, wearing masks and staying socially distant.

Thank you for your continued cooperation.
