Support Increased COVID-19 Food Assistance

As families are struggling to put food on the table during this time of economic crisis, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is urging Catholics to contact their Members of Congress, asking that they increase federal food assistance, also known as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) , in the next COVID-19 relief bill. In Wisconsin, SNAP assistance is provided through the FoodShare program.

SNAP effectively relieves hunger by delivering resources directly to low-income households. It is also a proven tool to boost the economy - every dollar spent on SNAP generates between $1.50 and $1.80 in economic activity.

Please urge Congress to protect those who are most vulnerable to hunger by strengthening SNAP for the duration of the economic crisis.
