Women may experience the "classic" heart attack symptoms of chest pressure, chest discomfort or shortness of breath, just as men do.
But women also may have symptoms such as back pain, usually on the left side; shoulder pain; a fullness in the stomach; or nausea as signs of an impending heart attack.
After noticing her 12-year-old daughter had not been eating, resulting in her becoming increasingly thin, a mother realized she needed to take action for the sake of her daughter's well being. In this interview, we will hear from a mother as she discusses how she found medical intervention for her daughter. She will also discuss her daughter's long road to recovery from body dysmorphia and anorexia nervosa. In addition, we will learn about another 12-year-old girl's bout with bulimia.
PowerPoint slides and videos from past webinars can be found on our Past Events web page. Let us know if you have feedback on the webinars, or if you have topic suggestions for future webinars at events@cwny.org.
Any vaccine appointment must be scheduled ahead of time.
Are you an Amazon.com shopper? If so, Amazon will donate half a percent of most purchase prices when you shop at smile.amazon.com. It's the same Amazon you know with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice. Of course, we hope you'll choose Center for the Women of New York!
