Friends,
Earlier this month, the Easter Miracle refocused our attention on the themes of hope, possibility, and renewal. I have been reflecting on these themes throughout Lent, accompanied by our amazing Jesuit Community through their weekly Livestream Masses. Looking toward the future, I have had the pleasure of welcoming many of our future Eagles at virtual receptions in the past few weeks. After a particularly strong enrollment season, we look forward to welcoming some of our biggest seventh and ninth grade classes in years.
And I was particularly filled with hope when, on Monday, we were blessed to welcome the entire Class of 2021 back to campus for their last full week of classes together. This return to life for our seniors has brought an incredible energy of gratitude and excitement to Morrissey Boulevard - and we hope to continue bringing other grade levels back in the coming weeks. Our present re-opening plan is as follows:
• Monday 4/12 – all Seniors, Xavier cohort (Arrupe, Freshman, Sophomore, Juniors)
• Monday 4/19 – April Break
• Monday 4/26 – all Seniors, all Freshman, all Arrupe, Ignatius cohort (Sophomore, Juniors)
• Monday 5/3 – all students in person
This schedule has been formed out of an intensive discernment and planning process with dialogue between our school leadership and public health officials. I echo Principal Lewis in reaffirming our deep commitment to having all of our students onsite because we know its impact on their learning and wellbeing. However, this reopening strategy will only be possible with the continued diligence of our students, families, faculty, and staff - as the safety of our community will always be paramount. I have applauded and shared my thanks with you throughout this entire year for the way we have adhered to COVID protocols and guidelines. With continued commitment to these rules, we have an incredible opportunity to end the year together.

Trustees Meet with Asian Culture Club
|
|
Last week, the Asian Culture Club was honored to speak with Trustees Fritz Friedman ’68 and Brian Lee ’02, the first two Asian Americans to sit on the Board of Trustees.
Of the meeting, moderator Mr. Huy Huynh said, "Our current students loved hearing about their past BC High experiences, about what they loved most at BC High, and how being Asian has been both a challenge and a gift. We look forward to our next meeting together."
Thank you Fritz and Brian!

Congratulations to all of our student-athletes who participated in National Signing Day last month. Planned as part of their Senior Class Day, our Eagles were able to celebrate their hard work while surrounded by their supportive classmates. We thank these young men for their dedication to the Maroon & Gold - and we can't wait to keep watching them succeed at the next level! Click here for a full album of team and individual photos.

BC High Hosts Model UN Conference 29
|
|
On March 5-6, BC High had 421 delegates from 44 schools, 7 states, 5 Jesuit schools, 2 Canadian provinces (Quebec & Newfoundland), and 1 one European Union (Ireland) country participating in our 29th Model UN Conference! Delegates worked on resolutions to stabilize the Middle East, deal with terror threats, and promote democracy across the world through fifteen distinct committees.
This event is a perennial example of BC High's leadership in Boston, the United States, and our global Jesuit Network. Kudos to everyone involved, particularly in this unprecedented year, and especially to Dr. Argento, Secretary General Teddy Pasto ’21, and Deputy Secretary General Luke Donovan ’21 for the write-up and Jacob Dao ‘26 for the photos.

Shields Innovation Challenge
|
|
The Shields Innovation Challenge is well under way! Currently, more than 20 teams of three or four students from grades 7-12 are honing their proposal for a creative solution (partnership, nonprofit, technological solution, or something else entirely) to a problem facing residents in the City of Boston. Assisting them is a pool of talented faculty, staff, alumni, and parent mentors with a deep breadth and depth of innovative skills. Soon, these teams will make a final presentation to a panel of expert judges - and we can't wait to let you know what they create!

Celebrating the Arts in April!

We have already featured the work of several amazing arts classes through virtual arts galleries on social media. And, tomorrow, the Xavier Cohort will treat us to another choir concert before school. Past concerts from this year can be found on Facebook or Livestream.
Stay tuned as we highlight our upcoming spring theatrical performances, relive hits from the Dever Players archive, highlight members of our student and adult arts councils, and so much more!

We are thrilled to welcome BC High students and students from schools across the state to experience our Sports Camps, Academic Courses, Middle School Enrichment Courses, and Specialty Programs. National Honor Society Inducts Another Outstanding Class
|
|
Congratulations to all of our students who were inducted into the Robert Fulton, SJ Chapter of the National Honor Society this year. NHS has a special place in my heart because of how it uniquely represents the Jesuit tradition of the magis. It is not only recognition for the intense academic work and service that students have already completed, but an invitation to do more and go further as leaders in our school.
Thanks to the efforts of our wonderful IT team, Ms. Ehalt, Mr. Huynh, and Mr. Gardner, the events were Livestreamed and photographed for family and friends who could not attend, and those links can be found below:

Today is the final day of our Spring into Action campaign and we are blown away by the incredible participation from our parent and guardian community. As a BC High parent, I know firsthand of the transformational opportunity this school provides. Thank you for supporting your students and all of our boys!
