Attention Master Gardeners!
Our May meeting was held using the Zoom platform. If you did not participate, the recording for the meeting is below. The educational segment was recorded and you may count this viewing for one educational hour. This was our first recorded attempt. Please forgive the lack of edits and polish with the technology learning curve. Like with our meetings, it's an informal discussion.

Topic: Wildflower Wednesdays - Plant discussion

David Hillock, our State Master Gardener Coordinator, just emailed general information about some online presentations for Master Gardeners in lieu of our state conference! Details will be coming soon ~ tentatively these will be Tuesday afternoons for about an hour, in June and July, beginning June 9th. Zoom or a webinar platform will be used. A 45 minute presentation with 15 minutes allowed for questions and answers. These will count toward your educational hours.

Watch for an email with announcement soon!
Wildflower Wednesdays!
As part of the online transition, Wildflower Wednesdays bloomed as an idea to reach out to our clients on a weekly basis by Facebook and Instagram to 'put a name to a flower' and observe nature in a peaceful setting.

Weekly plant posts with names and photos help clients learn about plant material, some native and some not. Some of these may be considered a weed in a lawn or pasture. A weed is a plant out of place. So depending on the goals and purpose for the property, that will be different in specific situations.

Wildflowers play an important role for our pollinators, including bees and butterflies. In many of the photos, you may see a little visiting insect of some sort as well.

Coronavirus Food Assistance Program - CFAP
For many areas of production agriculture, cattle, sheep, hogs, dairy, crops and specialty crops, the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program is available. The USDA / Farm Service Agency offices will be handling those applications.

OSU and FSA held a joint webinar to cover the guidelines of this program.
