Stage Set for Catholic Schools Week
Marquette Catholic to Celebrate 47th Annual Observance of Catholic Schools Week Beginning Sunday
Marquette is elated to participate in the 47th annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Catholic Schools Week enables Marquette - and all Catholic schools - an opportunity to highlight the value it provides to young people and the contributions it makes to the community.

The Catholic Schools Week festivities kick off Sunday morning when students decorate the hallways of the main building from 10 am til 2 pm. Each class has chosen a different theme for which they will adorn their pre-determined areas of 306 W. 10th Street: freshmen (Sky's the Limit), sophomores (Monsters, Inc. 2319 Quarantine), juniors (80's), and seniors (Scooby Doo). Lunch will be provided to those students participating.

Marquette will open the weekday portion of Catholic Schools Week with an all-school Mass officiated by Most Rev. Robert J. McClory beginning at 9 am. Normally, our partner schools join us to celebrate the liturgy; however, social distancing requires us to stream Mass live to our partners and community via Marquette's Facebook page. Formal uniform is required Monday; however, once Mass is adjourned, students may wear the craziest hat in their wardrobe.

The musically-inclined will thrive on Tuesday when the classes clash in a match of Name That Tune. As Catholic Schools Week celebrates students on this day, Marquette will provide complimentary pizza to students during lunch. Additionally, students are invited to wear pajamas on Tuesday.

Our students' many skills and abilities will be on display Wednesday afternoon when the much-anticipated talent show is aired throughout campus. The talent show, which has produced memorable musical and vocal performances and comedy sketches, coincides with patriotic-themed (non-political) clothing.

Teacher trivia - Thursday's activity - will test students' knowledge of the Marquette staff and faculty. Students are encouraged to dress in the spirit of their respective hallways.

The school week wraps up Friday with the Class vs. Class and Student/Teacher Dodgeball competition. The classes will play against one another before the students oppose a team comprised of teachers and staff. Students should wear their class shirts (freshman - navy; sophomores - gold; juniors - white; seniors - black).
