Wilmington, DE: Thursday, June 3, 2021 - YWCA Delaware, a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting justice for all, has received a $35,000 grant from Bank of America.
This grant will provide vital services to families living at YWCA Delaware's Home-Life Management Center (HLMC) emergency and transitional housing program and the Economic Advancement programs at its Center for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP). These centers provide temporary housing security and economic empowerment programs to individuals and families who face increased barriers to housing stability or safety risks due to domestic violence or sexual assault threats.
Home-Life Management Center is a transformative holistic housing program where families are sheltered and meet their basic needs while participating in evidence-based wraparound services to heal from trauma and accomplish their goals for health, relationships, work and income. The grant funding will further the YWCA's mission to help individuals and families combat homelessness and achieve stability while improving economic mobility.

More than 3,000 people are expected to experience homelessness in Delaware this year and individuals and families continue to recover from the economic toll of COVID-19" said Stephanie Staats, YWCA Delaware CEO. "This funding is a direct investment in the basic needs and financial development of individuals and families and will help strengthen the vitality of our community."
This grant is part of Bank of America's philanthropic giving efforts in local communities that helps drive economic opportunity and upward mobility in the community. Awardees were selected for their commitment to addressing basic needs and workforce development for individuals and families, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic.
