CATCH UP WITH THE CREW
Attention freshmen! Your Link Crew leaders are having the first meet-up of the second semester TODAY and TOMORROW, Jan. 29. Groups will catch up on winter break, how classes are going, the three day weekend and play some fun games. Watch for an email/text/TEAMS message from your leaders about the specific time and link to the meeting for your crew. Questions? Email [email protected], DM the PVPHS Link Crew Instagram or contact your leaders directly. See you there!

YEARBOOKS
Panthers! Order your yearbook today at yearbookordercenter.com using CODE: 7435. Not sure if you already purchased your yearbook? Check the list on Pen's website to see if you already ordered. If you purchased a "staff" book, your name will not be on this list.

LUNAR NEW YEAR DUMPLINGS
Learn how to make dumplings and discover Chinese Lunar New Year traditions at a free, social cooking lesson this Sunday, Jan. 31 at 11:00 am on Zoom. Our parent chefs will teach you their dumpling secrets to make this time-honored food to ring in the new year. Recipe and ingredient list provided. Sponsored by the Peninsula PTSA diversity, equity, and inclusion committee.

MUSIC AUDITIONS
Want to be part of Pen's award winning music department next year? Mark your calendar now as auditions are being held next month. Returning Peninsula students will audition during regular class time and students not currently enrolled in the instrumental music programs at Miraleste, PV Intermediate, or Pen need to contact the Peninsula music department to set up an audition. Complete audition details are available at pvphsmusicboosters.com or contact Rosie Chia, music department assistant, at [email protected].

READY FOR ROMANCE BOOK CLUB
Brighten this dreary winter with a light-hearted rom-com. Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian is the first book in the Ready for Romance Book Club. Despite the title, it's not a cotton candy confection. Contact the librarian, Mrs. Gutierrez, at (310) 377-4888 ext. 42602 or [email protected] to join and arrange for the pickup of your copy. Members will meet virtually around Valentine's Day to share their observations and ice cream.

P.E.F. DRAWINGS
Support the Peninsula Education Foundation with a donation of $1,500 or more and you will be entered into monthly drawings for a prize. January's winner will receive a two night stay at the new H2O Hotel in Hermosa Beach. February's prize is a dinner for two at Arthur J in Manhattan Beach and a bottle of Dom Perignon. Go to pvpef.org to donate.

PTSA BOOK CLUB
Meet with Panther families to discuss The Color of Law at the first PTSA Book Club meeting on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 9:00 to 10:30 am on Zoom. The Color of Law details how federal housing policies in the 1940s and 1950s mandated segregation and hindered Black families from buying their own homes. Shereen Walter, Director of Legislation for the state PTA and Carol Kocivar, past president of the California PTA and current legislative advocate are the guest facilitators.
