District Families and Employees,

Although all meals are being provided for FREE for ALL students this school year, did you know that completing the free and reduced meal application does more than qualify you for free meals at school? It provides funding to our schools, families with discounts and qualifies students for scholarships and financial aid.

While we are THRILLED that all meals are available for free this school year, this has reduced the number of meal applications submitted by our families--and therefore, decreased some of the resources available and put us at risk of losing additional resources.

That said...WE NEED YOUR HELP! Even if you don't plan to use the meal benefit personally, would you PLEASE COMPLETE an application for us by December 1? If you've already completed this process, THANK YOU and no further action is needed!

To do this there are two options:
  • Complete a paper form (elementary students received during PT conferences or in backpacks) found HERE or at any school office.
OR
  • Complete an ONLINE FORM in the SISK12 Parent Portal. This is a NEW option just released today in hopes of making this process as easy and confidential as possible!

When you login to the SISK12 Parent Portal, there will be a notification highlighted in yellow. Select the "View" link found on the yellow ribbon stating New optional e-Forms are available to fill out the Free/Reduced Meal Application, to get started. CLICK HERE for more directions.
Need to knows:
  • No action is needed if you've already completed a meal application this year--either paper or online.
  • A new meal application must be completed each year.
  • Only one form per family needs to be completed.
  • Income qualifications have been lowered, meaning more families qualify than in the past.
  • EITHER a paper form OR an online form can be completed. No need to complete both.

OUR GOAL IS TO GET AS MANY APPLICATIONS COMPLETED AS
POSSIBLE BY DECEMBER 1!
Thank you in advance!
