Spring Break Travel Reminder
|
Spring Break is March 29-April 5. If you plan to travel out of state during Spring Break (outside of Maryland, D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware or Pennsylvania) you must either quarantine for 10 days or obtain a negative PCR COVID test before returning to campus. After travel, per CDC guidelines, please wait at least 3 days before getting a COVID test. K-8th grade will be virtual the week following Spring Break to allow time for families to receive PCR test results or quarantine after a trip.

Shopping is open Thursdays and Fridays from 12:30-3:30pm now through April 30th. To maintain COVID safety, parents are encouraged to call ahead to reserve a shopping time. Appointments can be made by calling the school office at 301-424-6550.

Wow, what a busy week! PreK has been studying all things Spring. They learned about oviparous animals with an egg experiment, examined different types of animal nests, and studied spring plants. They also learned about the beginning, middle, and end of a story in Language Arts, and they practiced their handwriting skills. Keep up the hard work, Preschool!

JOURNALISM CLASS MOCK PRESS CONFERENCE
|
|
|
As part of the journalism curriculum, fourth grade students have been learning about press conferences. Yesterday they participated in a mock press conference with Head of School, Mrs. Stone. Mrs. Stone provided a preview of some of the plans for CES for the next school year. After her announcement, the student journalists had an opportunity to ask questions and get further information about some of the plans and changes taking place next year.

CES FAMILY GATHERINGS IN MONUMENT PARK

The PA has come up with a wonderful way for CES families to get together safely for some social time! Every Wednesday (weather permitting) from 3:30-5:00pm, families are invited to gather in Monument Park for a socially-distanced pop up picnic! Everyone is invited as we will socially distance and meet at the baseball field.

Recycle your old computers/laptops!
|
As part of the move out of the Jefferson Building, CES is working with UPCYCYLE to dispose of outdated computers and electronic equipment. Laptops and computers do not need to be functional in any way, they just need to have a computer chip. Computers may be dropped off on the cart labeled "Upcycle Donations" by the Front Office in the Jefferson Building. Please drop off all items by Friday, April 9th. Research Study for Middle School Families

Stephanie Cannon, a doctorate student from Liberty University, is in need of volunteers for a research study about technology usage in the classroom. Christ Episcopal School is offering its much loved Little Cardinals preschool summer camp for children aged 3 - 5 years old. Run by a former CES preschool teacher, former Gymboree owner, and current early childhood teacher, this year promises lots of outdoor physical activity and safe social interaction with other children.
