This BobBlast was filmed on the last day of the Art of the Carolinas Expo in Raleigh, North Carolina!
Sponsored by Jerry's Artarama - this expo features four days of workshops and an exhibition hall filled with discount art supplies. We love teaching at these expos!
The benefits are many:
•Work with a world-class teacher
•Wrap your head around a new technique
•Experiment with different art materials
•Get out of your comfort zone!
Any time we are out of our studios, we leave the familiar behind - that can be exhilarating
but also very scary and stressful. In this BobBlast, I want to give you some reassurance. You may not do your best work in a workshop! I have even heard my students say that they don't like to paint in front of people. Absolutely understandable! To make the workshop experience work for you… I have a few pointers:
• Concentrate on baby steps: If you come away with one new technique or new idea, it is money and time well spent
•Bring what is on the supply list AND what you think you will use. Do not bring your entire studio
•Put on your painting table just what you need immediately - put all other supplies under the table
•Write your overall painting goals on your table - so you can keep reminding yourself!
You may or may not do your best work in a workshop. Both are okay!
