Vaccine Planning in Chicago:

Moving to Phase 1B

The City of Chicago is making plans for a transitional COVID-19 vaccine distribution phase, bridging phase 1A and 1B. Hospitals and outpatient sites enrolled as COVID-19 vaccine providers will continue to prioritize healthcare workers, especially non-hospital based healthcare workers in tier 1A, for vaccination. Starting January 18, if vaccination providers have vaccine available and do not have tier 1A healthcare workers scheduled for vaccination, they may move to highest risk individuals that are over 65 years old and live or work in Chicago. Where Can I Get the Vaccine?

If you are an eligible individual as outlined in Phase 1a or 1b, such as health care workers, first responders, essential workers, or anyone 65 years of age and older, you can find your nearest vaccination site here.

Chicago, Cook County, west and north suburbs to relax COVID-19 restrictions. Bars and restaurants to close at 11pm. Indoor service limited to the lesser of 25 guests or 25% capacity per room. Read More

BSCO Trauma Counseling

Bright Star Community Outreach Counseling component is dedicated to providing services that minimize negative factors that cause violence and increasing protective influences that yield positive outcomes. Inspired by the work of NATAL in Israel, BSCO uses trained faith leaders and mental health professionals as trauma counselors to provide counseling services through a helpline and community ambassadors. Services are open to people of all beliefs and will only incorporate faith when requested.

Classes are provided every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 8:15 am-9:00 am on zoom. All ability levels are welcome to join!
