Greetings good people and welcome to yet another pastor’s update. So glad you can be with the three of us and with your sisters and brothers of St Bede where the women are awesome, the men are upstanding and the children are a joy to have around.
First of all thank you to all who were so cooperative as we came back last Sunday to in pew worship. We thank you for coming early, for keeping the 6ft distance between you and others, and for your patience and understanding as we implemented new procedures.
A huge and special thank you to the many volunteers: for our youth who welcomed us, the knights who checked us in, who asked the 3 questions we need to ask, who directed and ushered us to our and from our seats, and for the crew who sanitized the building after each mass. WE COULDN’T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT THEM!
This Sunday, Pentecost Sunday, we ask for your same patience, graciousness, and cooperation. We remind you mass times are at 8:30 am, 11:30 am and at 2:30 pm. Once again, masks are to be worn, 6 ft distancing between you or your family and others. Masks are lifted for communion only.
If you haven’t registered, please do so on the parish website. or through the link provided below. We’ll close registration on Saturday night at 11:59 pm so we can generate the list we use for check in the next morning.
This week we announce a couple of minor changes: Masks are to be worn by all - age of 10 and over. However, If a child is receiving communion, he or she should come to the priest or deacon and be masked like everyone else. Also, we have reduced the number of communion stations to 4 instead of 5. This will allow the flow to be even smoother than it was last week.
A recording of these masses will be available immediately after the Mass is over for those who wish to join us later in prayer.
We plan to offer a mass during the week for seniors and those cautious about attending mass on Sunday. Our first mass will be sometime next week. (The procedures will be the same used on Sunday: registration, ushering, 6 ft distancing, sanitizing immediately afterward.
Now for other news:
Monday June 1
st
is Fr Cassidy’s first anniversary of priestly ordination. On Tuesday June 2 is Fr. John’s second anniversary of priestly ordination. Join me in thanking God for their fervor, prayerfulness, charm and compassion. They bless us in so many, many ways.
On Tuesday,

Charles Palmer and he is currently studying at Mount St Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md. He’ll join the younger guys on the couch next week. I’ll sit on a bar stool to the side and drink heavily!
