Dear Members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church & School,
Since the beginning of April 2020, 260 prayer warriors, consisting of congregational members and St. Matthew Lutheran School staff and students, have been participating in our "Rise Up & Pray" campaign by lifting up fourteen local hospitals in prayer during the coronavirus pandemic. Every week, a designated Prayer Coordinator for each hospital has reached out to their assigned hospital to obtain prayer requests that are specific to that hospital's needs. These requests are shared with their team, and each day team members include these requests during their devotional times. The blessing has been ours to pray for these frontline heroes; in addition, their receptiveness and appreciation has been endearing.
Next week, each team would like to take a meal to one specific department in their respective hospitals to show appreciation and Godly encouragement. Many teams have applied for Thrivent Community Grants, but we are short of reaching our goal. As the brave men and women who work throughout the hospitals in our area sacrifice so much to keep us safe, we find this opportunity to thank the various heroes in our community very exciting. We look forward to seeing how God will bless this endeavor.
