Message from your Chapter President, Scott Tibbo
Hello all and Happy New Year! Thank you all for hanging in there with us throughout all of 2020 and the array of challenges so many of us faced. Let’s all look forward to 2021 with a positive and hopeful outlook!

As I reflect upon what we DID achieve during 2020 as the CT Westchester Chapter of CoreNet Global despite those challenges, I would like to highlight for you all the following accomplishments:

  • Successfully transitioned our chapter administration over to the Association & Conference Group (ACG) and welcomed Shelby McInvale as our new Chapter Relationship Manager
  • Created our first official social media pages on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; and completed a total re-design of our CT Westchester Chapter website
  • Completely “pivoted” from our planned in-person programs and events seamlessly to on-line/virtual programs and social events in response to the pandemic
  • Our Programs Committee planned and implemented an outstanding set of programs throughout the year where we had impressive new levels of attendance
  • We established a much stronger presence and connectivity to the Fairfield/Westchester region of our Chapter which was and still is a primary goal
  • Our chapter participated actively in important, unplanned CoreNet Global initiatives such as the Covid-19 Global Hackathon and the Covid Support to the Schools efforts
  • We also collaborated with the six (6) chapters of the Eastern Region of CoreNet Global on two remarkable programs, “The Great Debate of 2020 – Work From Home or In the Office"
  • We strengthened our programs targeted at Higher Ed and Young Leaders, and were named the “Organizational Partner of the Year” by the UCONN Center for Real Estate
  • We established a team led by Mark Nisbett, Past-President to focus on additional strategies and priorities around Equity, Inclusion and Diversity
  • Our CT/Westchester Chapter was a finalist (top three) for “Chapter of the Year” for Medium-sized chapters globally, and were top-rated for both membership retention and member engagement
  • In December we welcomed nine (9) super-impressive additional members to our existing Board of Directors who are already contributing to new ideas and success for 2021
  • We nominated and confirmed our VP/President-Elect for the upcoming term (2022-2024) our own Becky Nolan from Metro Hartford Alliance. Congratulations Becky. We are so fortunate!!

Even though I thanked all of the amazing volunteer members of our Board, various Committees and ALL OF YOU at our (Virtual) Year-End Holiday event on Dec 16th, I have to reiterate it here again so the entire membership can appreciate the amount of effort, passion and commitment goes into effectively running and growing OUR CoreNet Global Chapter here in CT/Westchester. Thank you all so very much!

Please see the information below about two outstanding programs coming up Jan 27th and Feb 25th where our Program Committee is kicking off 2021 with a big splash. Please plan to attend both!

Be well. Stay Safe. Stay Connected.

Scott

Corporate Real Estate Planning In A Post-Pandemic World
by Joe Brady, Forbes
Companies are now well into their fourth quarter of remote work, and one analysis of 10 major cities shows that just 25% of workers are back in office buildings. Gone are the days when company culture resides in the conference room, meeting room or common area. Today, office space can be anywhere — the bedroom, home office, flex space or coworking spot.

Chapter Sponsorship Opportunities Available
Annual Sponsorship:
Joining CoreNet Connecticut Westchester as a sponsor will provide your firm with visibility in one of the industry’s top organizations. Our annual sponsors receive a number of benefits for their contributions and are provided opportunities to increase exposure and awareness within corporate real estate industry.

Real Advantage Partnership:
Real Advantage is a unique forum that enables end-user members to learn from one another and from the thought leaders in our business. The program consists of eight to ten end-user dinners for Partner companies. The dinners enable participants to raise issues confidentially in a comfortable, collegial environment. The dinners have proven to be invaluable in helping people build peer-to-peer relationships. Selected senior-level service providers also attend. The dinners are also a strategic value-add for service providers, who gain insights into end users’ challenges.
