We want you to get to know every one of the leaders and what brought them to Reunion. In this week's newsletter, we want to introduce you to two of our younger leaders, Katie Kary and Joseph Morrison. Below are their stories of how they came to be part of the Reunion Church team.
Katie's Story:
I was introduced to Reunion Church through meeting my boyfriend's family last year; Andrew is Joseph's oldest brother. Joseph and I both saw Reunion Church as an answer to our prayers as we began to continue our faith journeys with one another. I have personally been praying for a church to call home for over three years now. Growing up, I was always involved in the church. My parents were both pastors before I was born. My dad was a youth pastor before I was born and as I was growing up, my mom was a children's ministry pastor. Unfortunately, after I graduated high school in 2018, the home church I was raised in deeply hurt me, my family, and a few of my own best friends. It made finding a new church very difficult, which I know many people nowadays can relate to.
I have served for many years in different aspects of the church, specifically in children's and youth ministry. My heart is to see God move in the upcoming generations and see His kingdom continue to grow and flourish, especially in the world we live in today. For the past three years, I have learned many hard lessons and gained a lot of knowledge and wisdom from the trials I've encountered. Now, I am finally ready to share my testimony and serve others once again in this next season here at Reunion Church. My prayer for Reunion Church is to see God do the extraordinary and use both Joseph and I and the other exceptional leaders here at Reunion Church to love and disciple those we meet and encounter.
Joseph's Story:
I was introduced to Reunion Church through my brother, Andrew. I have been a Christian since I can remember, but when Andrew asked me to help serve at the church, I was in the middle of redefining what God and church meant to me. After going to my first meeting at Reunion, I realized this church would be different; it would target the unreached and redefine what it means to be a church in this ever-changing world. God had put me in the path of Reunion long before I had ever spoken to Andrew about it. The thoughts and foundations of what we believe this church should be about are what I have been going through during my spiritual reconstruction.
I plan to let God take the reigns and have me serve wherever He seems necessary to help me grow stronger in my faith. Whether it be helping within the children's ministry and the youth ministry, or helping with social media and technology. My prayer for Reunion Church is that we always aim to be a church willing to help anyone, whether inside the church or someone outside hundreds of miles away. I pray Reunion can help everyone involved grow as disciples and spread God's word through all communities, big or small. I'm beyond ecstatic to see what God has planned for Katie and me and what He has planned for Reunion Church.
