DMLWC Marketing Committee Meeting

The Marketing Committee promotes the efforts of the Local Wellness Coalition through earned and paid media, and identifies opportunities to participate in events throughout Durham and Middlefield. This committee will find avenues to provide information to the community on various topics. 

This meeting is a great opportunity for coalition and community members to be involved with DMLWC and make a positive impact on our communities.

State Opioid Response Grant
DMLWC was awarded this years SOR Grant for the 2022 grant cycle!!
This Community Support for Opioid Awareness and Reduction program will provide NARCAN trainings for the community, resource sharing on Opioid Use Disorder, data collection, and many different campaign materials will be shared. More information on the three state campaigns below.

In the past few weeks there has sadly been five students aged 12 to 13 hospitalized after using TCH edibles in New Haven and one tragic death of a 13 year old Hartford student after a fentanyl exposure.
Now is as important a time as ever to talk to your youth about the dangers of drugs. There are many resources available online to help parents know how to start. Here are just a few:

Thank you to all that participated in the Family Holiday Tree Hunt and the Cupcakes and Canvas events! With data from post surveys all participants took we will plan more events that interest our community members.

Durham Middlefield Local Wellness Coalition holds meetings on the second Monday of every other month at 2:30pm currently in a hybrid setting at The Durham Town Hall and via Zoom. 

These meetings are open to all parents, educators, healthcare professionals, business owners, advocacy groups, civic leaders, and anyone who is interested in preventing substance use.
