The Lake Current - March 2021
Welcome to the March 2021 edition of our Council newsletter!

This month's edition is short and to-the-point, so please read-on!

As usual, here are a few quick but important items up-front before we get into the news.

  • Our next regular business meeting will be this Wednesday, March 10th, starting at 7:30 p.m. All members are welcome. We'll be serving dinner for members at 6:30. Any member who wishes to participate by Zoom should send our webmaster an email (please don't wait for the last minute!) and he'll send you the link.

  • Rentals for Communion & Confirmation: We understand that St. James parish will be giving out dates for First Holy Communion and Confirmation services in the near future. Any member who would like to reserve our Council hall for a reception should contact Rentals Chairman Mike Bock as soon as possible. Preference will be given to members until March 15th, at which time rentals may be offered beyond the membership.

  • Membership Degree Postponed: The previously announced combined exemplification that was tentatively scheduled for March 21st has been postponed. The Degree Team is currently looking at dates in April and will announce a new date shortly. If you know of a practical Catholic gentleman age 18 or older who wishes to join, have him contact our Membership Director, John Nuculovic, or GK Ralph as soon as possible to submit an application and be interviewed.

  • Health Reminder: Please use good judgment in deciding whether to come to the Council for meetings or events. Stay home if you are not feeling well. Please do not come to the Council if you have been in contact with people who have tested positive for COVID-19 or who have symptoms of COVID-19; or if you have been in close contact with people who are in quarantine or isolation, or with people who may have been recently exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual. All persons entering the Council are expected to observe social distancing and wear face coverings when and where appropriate.
Takeout-Only Lenten Fish Fry Fridays Are a BIG Hit!

Our 2021 Lenten Fish Fry Fridays are off to a great start! Even though we're doing take-out only, we're serving well over 200 meals every Friday!

And with our new pre-order and time-slot system, all of our orders are served fresh and hot, and ready for pickup on-time.

Our weekly specials continue to be real crowd-pleasers. Homemade New England Clam Chowder, Fish Tacos, and our famous Lobster Mac and Cheese all sold-out. This week's specials of Clam Chowder and Sole Piccata are selling fast.

Our weekly specials and the link to place an order are always available on our new Fish Fry page: carmelknights.org/fishfry.

All orders must be placed in advance. Quantities on specials are always limited, so get in your orders early. Sales start every Sunday morning and close Wednesday night for the following Friday.

PGK Mike McDonald is doing an amazing job taking orders by phone to save everybody the expense of online processing fees. Call him at (845) 629-4651 to place your order before sales close.

Thanks to our hard-working Fish Fry Crew, and thanks to all who support the Fish Fry with your orders.
