STUDENT PARKING UPDATE
Last spring, student parking spots were assigned and communicated to drivers. A reminder email was sent today to those student drivers who were assigned spots. As we return to campus in our Hybrid learning model, additional parking spots are now available, and we hope to accommodate as many student drivers as possible.

Today, an email with a link to the parking spot application form was sent to all students in grades 10-12. Students who are interested in receiving a parking spot at this time are asked to complete the form by Friday, January 22. Students who receive a parking spot will be notified the following week. If you have any questions, please email the Dean’s Office.

Please note: Students are currently not required to have a carpool in order to qualify for an assigned parking spot. However; if they choose to carpool with someone outside of their household, we ask that all students in the carpool wear a mask while driving to school.

HEALTHSHIELD & TRAVEL ADVISORY
Bishop Blanchet is adding additional language to our HealthShield verification process. Our third attestation question now includes language regarding out of state travel. As a reminder, students who travel out of state will be required to quarantine for 14 days prior to returning to in-person learning and in-person school sponsored activities. This is in accordance with Governor Inslee’s travel advisory issued November 13, 2020. Please continue to complete the HealthShield verification on behalf of your student/s. If you have questions, please email the Dean’s Office.

REQUIRED COVID-19 REPORTING
Our Reopening Plan and COVID-19 safety protocols require us to have a clear understanding of any impact COVID-19 may be having in our Bishop Blanchet community. Therefore, we are reiterating our protocol for families to notify the Dean's Office of any student or household member who tests positive for COVID-19. Families should report this information via email to Chris Bilanko, Dean of Students. All student or family member names will remain confidential as the school begins its communication protocols.

CLOSE CONTACT WITH CONFIRMED CASE OF COVID-19
Students and families identified by local health officials as a close contact to a confirmed COVID-19 case should also notify the Dean's Office by emailing Chris Bilanko, Dean of Students. Bishop Blanchet will communicate with impacted students and families regarding protocols for returning to school and school sponsored activities.

COVID-19 PREVENTION
All parents, guardians, students, faculty and staff are expected to follow the current state-issued guidelines regarding social and at-home gatherings. Families should spend time with their student(s) discussing the shared responsibility we all have to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes the importance of refraining from attending large social gatherings (only outdoor social gatherings up to 6 people are allowed in Phase 1 regions), If you spend time with anyone outside your immediate household, continue to stay 6 feet apart, wear a mask, and wash your hands frequently. You must stay home if you are sick or experiencing any potential COVID-19 symptoms.

Student athletes who have traveled or are planning to travel out of the state or country after November 13 must complete this form to establish a quarantine/return to play plan.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT UPDATE AND MEDICAL HISTORY FORM
Bishop Blanchet strongly encourages all athletes to get annual physicals. Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the challenge of scheduling physician appointments, Bishop Blanchet will accept physicals dated within the last two years for the 2020-21 school year. Note: physicals cannot expire mid-season. If a physical is set to expire before or during a season, the student athlete must have a new one before they can try-out for or participate in the remainder of that season. All student athletes will need to submit an updated Medical History Form for the 2020-21 school year. Click here for the physical and medical history forms.

SPRING MUSICAL: PREMIERE AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
Production is underway and cast and crew are hard at work to prepare a filmed version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic revue, Some Enchanted Evening, shot on location on the Bishop Blanchet campus. Some Enchanted Evening features dazzling and iconic numbers from beloved musicals like South Pacific, Oklahoma, The Sound of Music and more.

This is a unique and exciting musical project. While the songs that make up Some Enchanted Evening come from different shows, we are using the way they have been thoughtfully sequenced to tell the story of a day in the life of a high school campus -specifically, the Friday of The Big Dance. More details to follow!
