Maccabi Greetings!
Maccabi News
Thank you, Good bye and Good luck Jacquie!
On behalf of the Board, affiliated clubs and office staff of Maccabi Victoria,
the Directors of the Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation and the entire Maccabi Community,
we say a huge Thank You, Good Bye and Good Luck to Jacquie Lerner.
Jacquie has served as Executive Officer to 5 Presidents being Philip Sheezel, Russell Jaffe, Miles Clemans, Joe Dorfman and Brian Swersky.
Jacquie has, for over 16 years, been the heart and soul of Maccabi. We will never replace the insights she brings to our projects and programs. We will never replace her smile and warm welcome and her genuine passion for Maccabi, sport and her Jewish identity.
Jacquie leaves us with a solid foundation in place. A strong base from which we can develop and evolve further. Most of the programs and events we hold were either conceived by or executed by Jacquie.
Jacquie leaves a proud Maccabi legacy and to hono u r that legacy we wanted to do something special, something meaningful.
We are proud to announce the annual Jacquie Lerner Volunteer of the Year award. This will be a perpetual award and we hope Jacquie will help in developing the criteria and the selection of the winner.
Jacquie, more than anyone, understands that volunteers are the lifeblood of Maccabi and so we believe this is a fitting acknowledgment of your contribution.

Liberal Nationals to ban Nazi swastika and Nazi symbols in Victoria
Maccabi urges all its members and wider community to sign the petition and say NO TO HATE!

“Every Victorian deserves to go about their daily life free from persecution and this clear ban will go a long way to keep our community free from hate.
Minister for Police, David Southwick:

“Victoria is a proudly diverse and tolerant community and Victorian Liberal Nationals will always act to protect that.
Shadow Attorney-General, Edward O’Donohue:

Maccabi Memorabilia

“Recently Maccabi Victoria has been undertaking an extensive cataloging of all of its archival material – uniforms, badges, pennants, Carnival and Maccabiah programs, yearbooks, historical papers and other material. We are aware that many of you in the Maccabi community also have, in your own storage, valuable archival material which might be of great value to us, especially as we have a broad agreement with the Jewish Museum for a “Jews in Sport” Exhibition in a few years.
However, we first need information from you so we can gauge the value of what you have and whether we might be able to make use of it.
To that end, we ask you to click here to complete an online form at your convenience. If we then are keen to acquire what you have, we will then be in touch. Please do NOT bring any items to the Maccabi Office until we have assessed the suitability of your donation.
Many thanks for your assistance.
