April 9, 2020
Dear St. Peter's Families,

Most of our faculty and staff joined together (on Zoom) around 11:45 this morning to touch base, pray together, share successes and struggles, and wish one another a Happy Easter. We are grateful that technology allows us to meet regularly and be together while apart, but we definitely miss our in-person interactions as a team. Of course, we miss working with our students even more!

I directed our teachers and staff to disconnect from school through this Easter break, and I am asking all of you to do the same! We will be back "on" Tuesday, April 14.

Many of you have likely heard the news from Missouri Governor Mike Parson, who issued a directive regarding school closures through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. All Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph schools will be following this directive. Please find a communication from Diocesan superintendent Dr. Dan Peters here . As Dr. Peters states, we will provide more information next week. Trust me when I say that I know this is difficult information to process.

I hope you will be able to participate in Masses and church services throughout the Triduum, including the Holy Thursday Mass, which will be live-streamed shortly from St. Peter's at 6 pm.

Spring and Holy Week 2020 will never be forgotten. We continue to pray for all our school children, families, and parishioners. I wish you and those you love Easter happiness and blessings, as well as God's love and protection.

God our Father, in your overflowing love, you sent us Jesus to feed us with his body and blood, and lead us home to you. May these holy days open our hearts to receive all that you long to give us, and to live in the peace of Jesus, your Son. We make this prayer to you in His holy name. Amen.
