New President of Hillsborough Community College Dale Mabry Campus Selected Dr. Paige Niehaus of Wayne County Community College District will join Hillsborough Community College (HCC) as the Dale Mabry Campus president effective July 1. Dr. Niehaus succeeds Dr. Allen Witt who will retire after serving 14 years at the College, with his last three stewarding the Dale Mabry Campus. MORE

Cigar City cyclists wheel from Westshore for Bike to Work Day For the third consecutive year, the Westshore Alliance and our Bicycle Friendly Business partners participated in Tampa’s Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 21. The group took off from Cigar City Brewing (silver-certified Bike Friendly Business) and included representatives from Cigar City, AECOM (bronze-certified Bike Friendly Business), and the Florida Bicycle Association. The group traveled mostly on Gray Street between Westshore and Downtown, which was identified as a future Bicycle Boulevard and is currently being studied by the City of Tampa as the primary east-west bicycle connection. HART route frequency changing in Westshore The majority of HART service in Westshore will have 60 minute frequencies effective June 13. Routes 10 (Cypress), 15 (Columbus), 30 (Kennedy / Town ‘n Country), 32 (MLK Blvd), 36 (Dale Mabry) will all have service every hour. Service on route 34 (Hillsborough Ave) is still 20 minutes, and route 45 (University to Westshore Plaza) remains at 30 minutes. For more information, visit GoHART.org.
