What led you to this ministry?
I always had a life of service, as a nurse, a volunteer paramedic, an associate member of a religious order, a civil servant and later a consultant working with software used after the Americans With Disabilities Act was passed. I always knew when God called me to these roles, I carried the teachings of Jesus with me through them all. When asked “what led you to this ministry?” my only answer is God. I fell in love with Suncoast MCC and the people here. I volunteered in every capacity (except the Board), and enjoyed serving in each. When I heard my call to become a deacon, I met with Rev. Sherry who shared with me that she heard my call also!
What is your fondest memory of the time you served as a Deacon?
Every memory of my Diaconate is a fond one-at this point! There were tears and heartache and joy and laughter! Many of these years were during the time we lost our building, we worked, we loved, and we rose! Lots of memories of two services in the chapel, people in blankets and not enough room! Then, glorious memories of the rebuilding and opening of our new building! Every minute has been worth it.
How can I describe what serving Suncoast MCC means to me?
Serving the people of this church has been my heart. I hope I was able to share the Faith, Hope and Love I have with others.

Faithful service
2014 - 2021
Deacon Moore and Rev. Sherry helped me to see clearly that God doesn’t choose the qualified but qualifies the chosen.
What is your fondest memory of the time you served as a Deacon?
One Sunday, Deacon Burnice Moore was not doing well and I stopped to check on him as I left the Chancel area to receive Communion. I patted him on the hand and asked if he is okay and told him to not move after service is over and I will help you. Deacon Moore pulled on my robe and I leaned down to see what he needed and he took his cross from his neck and put it around my neck. Deacon Burnice Moore was like a Father to me.
What does serving SunCoast MCC mean to you?
It really is…the longer I serve God the sweeter He becomes.

What led you to this ministry?
Rev. Sherry was assistant Pastor at Trinity and she started the church down here. I came down and looked around and was among the first people to come down with Rev. Sherry. I always wanted to serve and focused on how I could help people. I focused on seeing you as you and the health and well-being of people.
What is your fondest memory of the time you served as a Deacon?
Very first service at the Days Inn on Hwy 41
Rev. Sherry pointed at me and said “over there…you are in the choir.”
What does serving SunCoast MCC mean to you?
As a founding member, seeing our Church grow means so much. I have had the opportunity to pray for people and to help the church grow.
