Dear Parents,
This week was an exciting one especially for our VPK kids. Our students dressed in their cap and gowns and did a little graduation. As we could not allow parents, we videotaped it. That short video along with a photo montage will be ready soon. We will be posting it on our website and our Facebook page so stay tuned for the link to view and share with family and friends.
Our Kindergarten and First Graders are getting excited about their drive-by awards assembly on June 9th. Parents of those students are asked to arrange for pick up between 2:00 and 4:00 so that the teachers can present their awards to the students along with an end of the year surprise! Please plan to take your child home following the presentation of awards.
Thank you to all the families who have participated in the year end teacher gift program. We will be collecting the little envelopes until June 4th so we can give them to the staff before the last day of school.
Next week we will be putting class lists in the windows along with your vacation time marked. Please check the list to verify the weeks you asked for vacation are correct. You can also see the class your child will be moving to for Summer. On June 10th we will send home your child's Crocs. Please make sure they still fit your child and wash as needed. Be sure to return them back on the first day of camp.
Finally some really exciting news.....We received a $19,500 COVID grant. We were able to choose to use it for many different things. One option was for staff bonuses. I truly feel our school is so wonderful because of our staff. That is why I am giving 100% of the $19,500 grant in the form of staff bonuses. Staff will get $100 per year for each year they have been employed at our school. 60% of our staff will get between $1000 and $1600 depending on how long they have been with us. I shared this information with staff on Wednesday at a ZOOM staff meeting. There were lots of tears and really happy teachers!
Reminder: We will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day and also on June 11th to prepare our school for summer camp. We thank all those brave men and women who have committed themselves to keep us safe!
Have a great long weekend with your family!
