Saving Jewish Lives - A Purim Reminder
The Story of Purim reminds us about the importance of saving Jewish lives. Esther was the wife of King Ahasuerus of Persia. Mordecai, her uncle, refused to commit idolatry by bowing down to Haman, the Prime Minister. Haman declares "Death to the Jews" and persuades the King to issue an executive order legalizing the murder of all Jewish men, women, and children in Persia. Esther appeals to her husband to rescind the order. Instead, the King signs another executive order allowing the Jews to defend themselves against the imminent attack by his soldiers. The Holiday of Purim commemorates the successful Jewish defensive campaign that saved the Jewish nation in Persia.

The ancient state of Persia is now known as Iran. Again, the Iranian government vows "Death to the Jews". Even the missiles soon to be armed with  nuclear warheads are inscribed with :ישראל צריכה להימחק מעל - "Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth".  See Link.  P olitical, diplomatic, and military strategists are working to deter this threat to Israel and its resident Jews.

While enemies outside of Israel intend to kill Jews, pro-abortion Jews inside of Israel succeed.  As of 2014, Israel has nearly the most liberal abortion policy in the world; it is legal to terminate a Jewish child in the womb during all nine months of pregnancy, no medical reason for the abortion is required, and the national health service covers the cost for women ages 20-33. See Link

Before 2014, approximately 97% of all applications for abortion were approved, about 20,000 legal abortions per year or 10% of all known pregnancies in Israel. In addition, it is likely that more than 10,000 abortions were illegally performed in private doctors' clinics. See LinkThe IDF, tasked with defending Jewish lives from enemy attack, pays for abortion of Jewish unborn children. See Link.

We now know that these unborn children felt excruciating pain during their legal execution.  See Link. We appeal to the hearts and minds of compassionate Jews in Israel and elsewhere to protect and defend unborn Jewish lives in the womb, our most vulnerable and the most precious members of the Nation of Israel.

Past  Events

The JPLF attended the annual March for Life  in Washington DC on January 27, 2017. This year we placed an ad in the Event Program for the first time. We were delighted that the President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, Jeanne Mancini, reached out to us and invited us to sit down with her to discuss our work. The meeting is scheduled for April 5th.

We purchased a variety of pro-life inserts to use for our letter writing campaign, in addition to our own brochures that we send out. We recently sent a letter to Rabbi Michael Namath from the Religious Action Center of Reformed Judaism. Rabbi Namath blessed the opening of the new Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan DC.   Please let us know of any Jewish groups or individuals to whom you would like us to send a letter.

Earlier this year we were contacted by a supporter who posted a pro-life blog on his webpage. Check it our here!
