When the people following Moses through the wilderness reached the end of their food supply, they feared that they would die in the desert. Moses prayed to the Lord. Manna and quail sustained the population.

When the people following Moses noticed venomous serpents biting and causing many deaths, they feared that they would die in the desert. At the Lord’s command, Moses fashioned a serpent out of bronze and hung it on a pole in the middle of the camp. Those who looked at the bronze snake were healed.

The world’s population seems focused on the Covid-19 virus, with its rapid spread, and the threat of many deaths. What is the message we can bring to the world?

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,   that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:14-17)

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you that you have opened the Kingdom to me and all who believe. Thank you that you teach me to trust in you and your provision for my life. Help me to bring hope to others as we all go through these challenging days. Amen.
