Art Show
Our Art Show this year will be on Thursday, March 12 starting at 4:00 and ending at 7:30.
This event coincides with one of our parent conference evenings. As we have done in recent years, we will be using the company Artome. If you choose, you may purchase the framed art ($25), however, there is no obligation and all of your child's artwork will be sent home at the end of the school year (unframed but still beautiful.)
Inclusion
Spread the Word: Inclusion
On March 4th people around the world will take action for inclusion. Special Olympics Spread the Word to End the Word campaign has been working to spread respect and inclusion for the past 11 years. The campaign's new form - Spread the Word: Inclusion - builds on this campaign by continuing to challenge everyone to commit to respect and to include. We are calling on all people to pledge to include.
World Down Syndrome Day
World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), 21 March, is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. Join in with us to create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome on 21 March. How can you help? By wearing LOTS OF SOCKS! Make sure you use the hashtags #LotsOfSocks, #WorldDownSyndromeDay and #WDSD20
Flexible Instruction Days
Our teachers have already been planning just in case we need to use our FIDS (Flexible Instruction Days). Here is a link to details and information about FIDs found on our district website:
