Dear Parents,

Thank you for finding the "Golden Sparkle Moments" throughout the school year and especially during these last 9 weeks of Distance Learning. Please enjoy the last of the inspirational and poignant encouragement videos created by our own Ms. Rogers, aka "Ms. J". Your children have had an opportunity to start their days with these weekly lessons on empathy, perseverance, 7 Habits, and more!

We are on the home stretch-more fun and celebrations to come as we wind down a remarkable and transformational year of learning and growing!

With love and gratitude,

Week 9: Kindness Chain

Dear Students and Families,

I am beyond proud of all the amazing, golden sparkles of positivity, you have accomplished during this distance learning time frame. You have created so much encouragement and hopefulness for so many in your lives - healthcare heroes, families, and friends are just the beginning. You have truly WOWed us over with all of your challenges and acts of kindness.

There is a saying on a poster in my dining room/office that says, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is EVER wasted.” We never regret being kind. And so, as I pondered our next empathy challenge, I kept asking myself, “What kind of challenge could we do that would last us throughout the summer?” Let’s have some fun with this and show the world our Kindness Chain.

Here’s how we are going to do it. Take strips of colored construction paper, about 1-2 inches wide and 3-4 inches long. Once you have demonstrated an act of kindness, write it out on your slip along with your name and date, and then make a circle out of it. On your next act of kindness, loop it through your first one to start building your chain. Your entire family can be involved with this acts of kindness chain! How long will your chain get by the end of the summer? When we return to school, let’s combine our kindness chains TOGETHER! How far will it stretch? How beautiful this display of doing good will be!

It will prove that we truly are, IN THIS TOGETHER!

-Mrs. J
Please remember, this activity, school-wide challenges, and enrichment experiences are optional for those families who would like to participate. We understand that each family is experiencing their own "juggling act", activities like this are merely suggestions to supplement day-to-day learning. What is most important is that you and your family find a healthy balance.
Park Maitland is so LUCKY to be surrounded by such an amazing school community! A HUGE thank you to:

End of the Year Celebratory Drive Through
Supply Pick Up/Drop Off
Thursday, May 28th

Please plan to come by campus on May 28th for an end of
the year pick up/drop off.

All library books and school issued iPads (4th and 5th grade) must be dropped off during this time.

To ensure safety and maintain social distancing, this process will be a contact-free drive through. Please follow the specific directions below:

  • Please have your name placard visible for our caller.
  • Please remain in your vehicle at all times as you drive through the carpool line.
  • Please plan to return items in a clearly labeled bag with your child’s name, grade, and class color and place in your trunk. Upon arriving on campus, a staff member will remove items from your trunk.
  • We will place your child’s bag of belongings into your trunk and close the trunk for you.
  • In advance of next week's iPad drop off, please be sure to go through the following iPad Check-in Checklist to ensure you have everything you need in hand and ready to return. It is prudent that we have this prepared in advance as it will help expedite the process and keep the pick up and return line moving efficiently.

Teachers are excited to see their students during this end of the year send off!

At this time, we will be postponing the opening of our Summer Camp until June 15th.

If we are unable to offer camp for the week you registered, you will receive a full refund of your registration fee and deposit.

We are excited about the opportunity to see our campers and get them back reunited with their friends at camp! Look for an update on revised but still "exciting" camp happenings soon!

Be on the lookout for updated information on this magical event!

Don't forget to share pictures of our last week's special events!
