USDA DIRECT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The USDA Agriculture Direct Assistance program payments will be based on losses where prices and market supply chains were disrupted. The compensation will help growers deal with lost demand and short-term oversupply during the 2020 marketing year as a result of COVID-19, according to a news release from USDA. General Information

cattle, hogs, and sheep (lambs and yearlings only

malting barley, canola, corn, upland cotton, millet, oats, soybeans, sorghum, sunflowers, durum wheat, and hard red spring wheat

  • Fruits: apples, avocados, blueberries, cantaloupe, grapefruit, kiwifruit, lemons, oranges, papaya, peaches, pears, raspberries, strawberries, tangerines, tomatoes, watermelons
  • Vegetables: artichokes, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, sweet corn, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, dry onions, green onions, peppers, potatoes, rhubarb, spinach, squash, sweet potatoes, taro
  • Nuts: almonds, pecans, walnuts
  • Other: beans, mushrooms


For this to be a smooth process for you and Wilkes County Farm Service Agency, please follow the steps below.
1.     Print out or download the required documents provided in link. If you choose to download, you can type your answers and it will auto-populate some of the required fields. Required Documents
2.     Fill out form AD-2047 (page #1) (this number is located in the top left corner), part A Customer Information. You will need to complete all of section A. Below is some tips on completing.
·        Section 1 put the name of individual or business. This will be the same name as how you file your taxes.
·        Section 2 - provide your full SSN or Tax ID number
·        Section 8 - write the name of customer
·        Section 8 - Signature
·        Section 8 – Date
3.      Fill out form AD-1026 (page #3) (this number is located in the top left corner), part A Basic Information.  You will need to complete sections 1,2,10(located on page #4).  Below is some tips on completing.
·        Section 1 put the name of individual or business. This will be the same name as how you file your taxes.
·        Section 2 - provide your full SSN or Tax ID number
·        Section 10 A,B,C (page #4) Full Signature
4.     Fill out form CCC-941 (page #5) (this number is located in the top left corner).  You will need to complete sections 2,3,5,6. Below is some tips on completing.
·        Section 2 – put the name of individual or business. This will be the same name as how you file your taxes.
5.     Fill out form SF-3881 (page #7) (this number is located at the bottom right corner).  You will need to fill out; Payee/Company Information, Financial Institution Information, and attach a voided check. 
6.     Once you have the required information completed, please print the check sheet provided in the link below to ensure all documents are filled out correctly. Place this check sheet at the front of your documents. This will make the process easier and faster for you and FSA. Documents Check Sheet
7 Once you have completed the documents, please watch the video, Video Link , that will explain the application process which will be live on Tuesday May 26, 2020. Link to Application
8 After you submit you application (On May 26, 2020 or after), please call the Wilkes Farm Service Agency to schedule an appointment to review your documents and application. 336-838-3622. You have until August 28, 2020 to signup.
