Calvary Church is not closed!

Talk of opening Calvary, in a sense, is misleading. Calvary Church has never been closed, and I trust it never will be! It is true that for several weeks we have not been meeting on campus, but biblically the "Church" is not buildings, facilities, and grounds, but the very Body of Christ. The true Church comprises those saved by the grace of God and committed to being and making authentic followers of Jesus Christ. Although all of us miss the collective assembly, Calvary Church is alive and well!
It has been tremendously encouraging to the leadership of Calvary to see so many continuing to serve God, reaching out to others, being committed to prayer, and growing in their faith. Calvary Church is open! Always remember that Christ is building His Church (
Matthew 16:18).
The numbers "Zooming" to the Life Groups are tremendous. We see many from all over the world joining our Livestream and the Facebook Live events! We're using social media to advance the Gospel. The Calvary family is calling one another and checking on each other. Many are completing the membership classes. And our elders, deacons, and pastors are personally reaching out in the mini-flocks. Children's Ministry is doing a fabulous job online with connecting and contacting families. IGNITE has flourished, and our Student Ministry pastors and leaders are making an impact. We're delivering food to those in need and showing appreciation to those on the medical front lines with gift bags. The list goes on and on.
Yes, Calvary Church is very much open!
We are praying and actively considering when we will be able to resume worshiping on our campus. We want to do this as soon as possible and as safely as possible. You will understand that there are many things to consider, and therefore I ask that you pray daily for wisdom for our leaders and staff as we deliberate on such matters.

ADULT LIFE GROUPS
- ALGs are meeting via Zoom for Bible teaching, prayer, and fellowship on Sundays at 8:30 or 11:15 AM. Your ALG leader will send you Zoom details by email. If you're not part of an ALG, check with Pastor Nathaniel Pearce to get connected. calvarychurch.com/lifegroups
STUDENT MINISTRY
- College Students (ages 18–25) are meeting on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM and on Sundays for ALG at 11:15 AM via Zoom with Pastor Eric Hill.
- High School Students meet on Sundays at 11:15 AM for SLGs with group leaders and/or Pastor Eric Hill on Zoom.
- Middle School Students meet on Sundays at 11:15 AM for SLGs with Pastor Matt Thompson via Zoom.
- SUMMER IGNITE for all students will launch on Wednesday, June 10 — stay tuned for details!
