National Hispanic Heritage Awareness Month – National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th – October 15th to promote the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic-Americans — specifically, those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Communities mark the achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans with festivals and educational activities. This year's theme is: "Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation."
Sept 5th – Labor Day is a federal holiday that pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is traditionally observed on the first Monday in September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century.
Sept 5th- International Day of Charity, established with the objective of encouraging others all around the world to help others through volunteer and philanthropic activities. September 5th was chosen to commemorate the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
Sept 10th – Chuseok, also known as Korean Thanksgiving Day, is one of the most important and festive holidays of the year. Also known as Hangawi, which means the 15th day of the eighth month, according to the lunar calendar. On this day, a full harvest moon appeared in the sky and families gathered to enjoy time together and give thanks to their ancestors for the plentiful harvest. Koreans celebrate Chuseok by making special foods, particularly a certain kind of rice cake called Songpyeon. Another Chuseok tradition in modern-day Korea is that of gift-giving. Koreans will present gifts to not only their relatives, but also to friends and business acquaintances to show their thanks and appreciation.
Sept 11th – Patriot Day is a holiday observed in the United States to commemorate the lives of those who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Virginia and those who perished when the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania.
