Because Lutherans are patient: even with our blooming impatiens, we know that sunny days lay ahead. Thanks to the Property Stewards for gracing the Mountain Street entrance with an array of colorful petals that greet passersby with ardent cheer. Keep planting seeds of hope, y'all. They do everyone a world of good. W e are in this together. We are better together. We may be apart, but we ar e not alone.

Cheers to Grad #4

Congratulations to Tabitha Pruski!

Your Emanuel's Family is proud to honor you. Best wishes in all that you do!

God bless our 2020 Graduates
Well, here is something from behind the scenes you don't normally get to see. Pastor Marcus shares this photo of all the worship bulletins he and Pastor Kelsie have been using while recording the last few months. Grateful for all of their hard work and resilience!
Howdy! We see you bopping around town with your Emanuel's logo proudly displayed in your car's rear window. Sometimes we wave and you miss us, but that's okay. It's just nice to see a friendly reminder of our church family from time to time.

Wait... you don't have a snazzy car decal? It's not too late to get one. As a matter of fact, if you call the office from the parking lot we will come out and put it on your vehicle for you!

Decals are only $2 each. There are stickers, too, for $1. Give us a call at 830-379-5046 for your Emanuel's bling.
Last year Emanuel's was approached by former member Daniel Zies inquiring about our historic German stained glass displayed in the sanctuary transcept. Mr. Zies, a museum curator, wanted to feature these pieces in an upcoming exhibit at The Ellen Noёl Art Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate in Odessa, Texas.

At the expense of the museum, several of our windows from storage were carefully crated and transported to the Permian Basin by Clifton "Buddy" Nagel, a Seguin contractor and friend of Emanuel's.

Sacred Scripts provided a comprehensive view of how religious texts stand as art objects and the progression of that vehicle over time from early medieval manuscripts through the invention of the printing press to mass produced contemporary texts and unique artist books.

The exhibition included a wide variety of rare objects including Egyptian Torah fragments, the 1611 King James Bible, illuminated medieval Book of Hours, leaves from the Nuremberg Chronicle , Albrecht Durer's Small Passion , William Blake's Illustrations of the Book of Job , and Shandow Birk's American Qur'an .

Our windows were in majestic company. Safely home now they can bask in the experience and rave reviews:

"Enjoyed the beautiful work that was done though the centuries, and being Lutheran I loved the stained glass windows." -Tommie from Odessa

"I really liked the bibles and my favorite was the windows. Thank you. It was Amazing!" -Bentley, age 9

Pastor Kelsie and Pastor Marcus just got their hands on our new At-Home/Virtual Vacation Bible School curriculum, Compassion Camp. They are busy planning the week's activities so that kids and their families can participate remotely (and safely!). More details to come, but we're excited to share that there is SOMETHING to put on your calendar!
Members of Emanuel's Lutheran Church were emailed a survey this week to assist church leadership as they consider the best practices to re-enter the campus for worship. (Our folk without email are being contacted by phone.) Please share your responses before the end of next week. If you need assistance completing the survey feel free to call the church office at 830-379-5046. We want to hear from as many people as possible.
