Cherry Creek Academy Presents:
100% Virtual Multicultural Festival 2021
Event Date: Friday, April 16th 5:30pm – 9pm
The Multicultural Festival is an event that displays the different cultures of the world. And what better way to achieve this than with the help of the families here at CCA that have a heritage from different countries. This event provides an opportunity for kids and adults to experience and learn about the food, costumes, environment, arts, music, ways of life, etc. of the various cultures that are represented.
Students will pick up their travel bag with their passports and a souvenir from each country being represented. The event will be broadcasted and there will be chances to win prizes for filling out your passport. Stay tuned for the link
WE NEED COUNTRY REPRESENTATION!
Country leads/co-leads will double their volunteer hours!
Country Representative: Each country will be given 15 minutes to present their country in a video format. Each country will be given a minimum of $75 depending on the need. We will assist in video editing if needed. During this video, each country will need to touch on three points.
Teach us something about the country
Entertainment – ex: music, performance, art, craft
Must have something to put in the travel bag – ex: flag, keychain, something that represents the country
BE CREATIVE! BE CREATIVE! BE CREATIVE!
Submissions for representatives due: February 25th, 2021

WANT TO PERFORM BETWEEN PRESENTATIONS?
Before each country presentation we will have cultural performances.
It is not a talent show. If any of the kids or adults would like to sing, dance, or play an instrument related to the country, then this is the avenue to do so. It is ok to invite performers from outside too. If you would like to present a cultural performance, please email PTOmcf@cherrycreekacademy.org.

Food for Purchase: Let’s support our CCA Family-Owned Restaurants during the Multicultural Performance. We will be offering coupons for restaurants, snacks packs, grab and go’s or head to one of the restaurants to watch the performances!
Nutrition Services is offering meals for in person and remote students for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Students at school can receive their meals on campus. For more information, click here.

Even though all breakfast and lunch meals are free this entire school year for all students, thanks to Federal Funds given to public schools, each public school still receives additional funds to support student learning based on the number of families who qualify for Free or Reduced meals so we encourage all families to fill out the free or reduced-price meal application. To read additional information about incomes that qualify for the Federal free and reduced meal program, please click on the link. To complete the online application, please click on this link.
Safety and Mask Reminder
As we are settling back in, we wanted to send a friendly reminder to our families about wearing masks when you are near CCA. We are asking that when you are waiting outside of CCA or walking across the crosswalk that you have a mask on. We want to do everything in our power to remain in person and that means taking every health/safety precaution that we can. We want to thank you for your partnership during this unique time and for your commitment to a safe and healthy school.

Attention Parents of 8th Graders!

We still need your help! Please send us two pictures of your child. One can be of your child as a baby or a toddler and one should be a recent photo. The pictures will be shared in our 8th graduation slideshow. These photos need to be sent in by March 12, 2021.

Please send your digital photos with your child's name on them to our Director of Communications, Rachel Brooks at Rbrooks@cherrycreekacademy.org.

Thanks so much for your help with this! We look forward to celebrating your students in the Spring!
A Note From Nurse Jayne:

With K-4 back in person, we want to reiterate how extremely important it is to keep your child home if they are ill. Please notify Nurse Jayne at jbauer@cherrycreekacademy.org if your child has a positive COVID test or if your child has been exposed to someone with a positive COVID test so that we can take the appropriate steps to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
