In response to online classes, remote learning, and bridging student needs over multiple campuses, University Libraries (UL) is purchasing more and more e-books. The UL Collection Advisory Committee is discussing making the e-book format the preferred format for future book purchases.
University Libraries owns a large collection of e-books and provides access to many e-books through several subscription services. E-books come from many different publishers, and each publisher has its own access rules and restrictions. Please note that subscription-based e-books can sometimes be available for limited time periods. If you find a helpful e-book, please save the citation information.
Some e-book providers have the option of reading the e-book online. Others have a feature that allows you to "check out" the book for a set amount of time - this varies from publisher to publisher - and download it to your computer or device. Some providers require that you install special software, such as Adobe Digital Editions, or create an account within their system before you can download their books.
The guide linked below provides an overview of the e-book features available from University Libraries primary e-book providers.
