"Parental support is fundamental to the success of our scholarship students, so our program is designed to include them in every step of their son or daughter's academic progress."
- Braulio Cochoy Muz, Scholarship Program Coordinator.
This month, we held the second workshop with more than 30 parents of scholarship students, focusing on how to provide socio-emotional support within their family that will lead to more positive educational outcomes for their children. Since these workshops with parents began, we have seen a 25% increase in attendance. More parents reach out to our program staff to ask about their children's academic performance and seek advice on how to support them better. This is something that did not exist a few years ago, as most parents themselves only completed a few years of primary schooling.
Prioritization of education is changing little by little.
