Neighbors, we're doing our part!

Statistics are showing that although COVID cases are on the rise in Pennsylvania, and generally throughout the country, Philly has been doing its part to control the spread by wearing masks. In fact, Philadelphia is considered the most compliant major city in the nation to wear masks. Center City has seen the most mask-wearers. Great job!

It's been a hot, sweaty, summer and the masks are uncomfortable, but if we keep this trend going, the cases in our city will continue to drop.

Also, in light of the city, state, and national unrest in regard to systemic and institutionalize racism, Mayor Kenney has established a diverse Steering Committee to " make real changes, and focusing on listening, understanding, and reconciliation."
Covid-19 Updates

- City continues to be in a "modified" green phase -  COVID-19 cases continue to spike in Philly and PA. Gov. Wolf announced new restrictions  to combat the spread of the virus.

- Gyms and exercise classes have reopened this week.  Please check with your gym  to see if new rules are in place - i.e. reservations, class sizes, etc.

-  PA Schools and colleges have reopened.

- Indoor dining remains restricted at least through the beginning of August.

- Here's an updated restaurant list.   If you are aware of any changes, such as outdoor dining availability, please inform Travis.   Thank you all for your suggestions.

See them? Squash them!

The CCRA Garden Steering Committee has been monitoring with concern Spotted Lantern Flies in the garden. They just finished a 4th round of Neem Oil spraying and it is estimated that they have achieved a 75% reduction in the Fly population.
To control any nymphs or adults you see, s quash them or spray them with Neem oil or "Green Power."

Spotted Lanternfly nymphs are already active around the city.  Squash them!

VoteSafe Pennsylvania Aims to Help Voters Access Safe Options For Election

VoteSafe Pennsylvania  has launched a statewide bipartisan campaign that aims to ensure every Pennsylvania voter has access to safe voting options for the November election.

As covid-19 threatens to disrupt traditional voting procedures, VoteSafe Pennsylvania is advocating for secure mail-in ballots and safe in-person voting sites. The group is also educating voters about what voting options are available to them, as this year marks the first time all Pennsylvania voters can vote via mail-in ballot.
