The McKinney Center is Hiring!

The McKinney Center seeks a fulltime STEM Project Manager to bolster the academic achievement of K-12 students; to encourage students to pursue careers in STEM; to cultivate STEM-literate citizens; and to connect STEM education to environmental responsibility. The STEM Project Manager will design and deliver teacher training, and craft engaging lesson plans for in-school and out-of-school learning. The STEM Project Manager will also develop crucial relationships with teachers, students, parents, community members, business partners, government officials, program administrators, and funders. Lastly, the STEM Project Manager will contribute to the McKinney Center's empirical research base by designing, implementing, summarizing, and reporting on quantitative and qualitative evaluation activities.

I Am Philadelphia: Young Voices Spoken Word

The Philadelphia Education Fund's PhillyGoes2College is thrilled to announce that it is partnering with the Wawa Welcome America Festival to offer the "I Am Philadelphia: A Young Voices Spoken Word and Video Contest." The contest is open to high school students in the City of Philadelphia, and all submissions are due by April 30th. There are two ways to enter for the chance to win exclusive prizes and to have student voices heard! Go HERE for a contest overview, submission instructions, tips for success, and rules for entry.

Pennsylvania STEM Coalition &
Pennsylvania Statewide STEM Ecosystem

The Pennsylvania STEM Coalition and the Pennsylvania Statewide STEM Ecosystem (PSSE) offer a series of STEM meetings throughout the year. In partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), these events are an excellent opportunity to learn about regional and national STEM updates. You can join the listserv HERE.

The next STEM Coalition meeting will be on Thursday, April 8, from 4-5 PM. The topic will be "Asset Mapping: Strategy for Collective Impact Networks & Ecosystems." This is the Zoom link, and preregistration is not required. Please email Betsy Payne for details.

Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem &
Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective

The Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem is one of 89 national STEM Ecosystems and convenes STEM stakeholders to increase collaboration, coordination, and access.

In partnership with GSK. The Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective is a 10-year initiative that seeks to increase the number of individuals from underrepresented populations entering STEM careers.

Philadelphia STEM Education Directories

The Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem just launched its new STEM Education Directory. The Program Directory lists out-of-school time STEM activities for Pre-K-12 children and youth in the Philadelphia area. The PD Directory includes STEM PD offerings for both classroom teachers and informal educators. We continue to accept listings for both.
