Join Rockwell’s Equity Team
Rockwell is looking for parents and other Rockwell family members to join our school Equity team! Team members would partner with us to learn more about topics related to race and equity in education and would work alongside members of the staff to promote equity here at our school. We are looking for team members with a variety of perspectives and backgrounds, and you do not need to be an expert in equity to join – we’re all learning and growing together! Looking for fun ideas over Holiday Break?
Check out Heritage Night!
Rockwell Families: It's not too late to enjoy the PTA's annual Heritage Night. One benefit of having this as a "virtual" event this year is that you can enjoy Heritage "Night" when it's convenient for you! We have some wonderful cooking tutorials that would be great family activities over the long holiday break coming up :)
For those who aren’t familiar with this important Rockwell tradition, Heritage Night is a special occasion where our PTA and school families celebrate the wonderfully rich and diverse cultures in our community. In “normal” times, the PTA hosts a large event at Redmond high school where we feature different booths from around the world. Parent volunteers organize each booth, and showcase fun and interesting features of their family’s country of origin.
Even though it's not safe to assemble in person this year, we still wanted to keep the Heritage Night tradition alive. In these links you’ll find fun cooking videos, photos that feature Rockwell students in traditional outfits from around the world, interesting artifacts, and dance performances from several students.
The PTA is deeply appreciative to all the parent and student volunteers who dedicated their time to help keep this important school tradition going, even in these disconnected times. And a very special thank you to Mansi Majeed, the Chair for Heritage Night. Enjoy!!

Rockwell Winter Spirit Assembly!
We’ve got spirit, yes we do! We’ve got spirit, how about you?
Are you ready to have some fantastic beagle fun? Then join us for our first ever virtual assembly coming up on Tuesday, December 15, at 2:15 PM! We will be playing school wide games and hosting a sing-along of your favorite winter songs.
To participate in our assembly, use the link below to join the Teams Live event at 2:15 PM on December 15. We will not have classes or groups at this time so that all students can participate in the assembly. See you then!

Calling all 5th graders
Are you an artist?
Can you draw, sketch or doodle the Norman Rockwell spirit?
It's a Rockwell tradition for the graduating classes to submit designs for an awesome yearbook cover.
Enter the yearbook cover contest now and your design could be selected.
Deadline: January 15th 2021
Please submit a photo/scan of your final designs to: yearbook@normanrockwellpta.org
Requirements:
Black pen, black marker or pencil only please
Accepted file formats include: JPG, SVG, TIFF, PNG and PDF (Zip files also accepted). Files can be up to 100MB per file.

And we're still looking for Crazy Hair Day and Dress-to-Impress photos! We'd love to include all the creative hair styles in our Yearbook.

Math Challenge #6 Due by Thursday, January 7th. Math Challenge #6 is now available here. Please feel free to try more questions than the minimum required for your grade level in order to qualify. Grab some friends and family and work on the challenges together! Once your student completes the challenge, email their paper by the due date to mathchallenge@normanrockwellpta.org
The due date for Math Challenge #6 is Thursday, January 7th by 3:20pm.
