Pastor Post
Pastor Tommy

I give thanks for my father this week.

He died thirteen years ago, and I think about him every day. He taught me how to fish and how to water ski. He was a friend to everyone he met, and he never met a piece of pie he didn’t like. He laughed easily and rose up quickly to help when anyone was in need. Thanks be to God for the men who have been fathers to us. Men who have blessed us with strong, steadfast love.

If you are blessed to be able to bring your Dad to church this Sunday, I hope to see him there. If you’re going to spend all morning grilling him hamburgers, I hope y’all join us online. If you can’t be with your father, give him a call. Or if you are separated by time, or distance, or hurt, I’ll say a prayer for healing and peace this Sunday.

The Bible speaks of God’s love for us. It is a love that is steadfast and sure. May the powerful love of God bless you and yours this Father’s Day. You have my permission to eat an extra piece of pie, and give thanks. I know I will.

Blessings,
Pastor Tommy
