Special Performance - Sunday, September 4 at the 10 AM Service
Roosevelt André Credit’s profound and spirited performances have served to shape his career both nationally and internationally as a bass/baritone. Roosevelt made his Metropolitan Opera debut during the 2021-2022 season in Die Meistersinger and Porgy and Bess. He was featured as a “Fisherman” in the 2012 Tony Award Winning and Grammy Nominated Production of The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess on Broadway. He has performed on and off Broadway, playing several roles in the Tony Award winning and national touring companies of Harold Prince’s Show Boat. He has received the 2012 Most Distinguished Alumni Fellow Award from Oregon State University and was featured vocally in the Oscar winning movie 12 Years A Slave. Roo is an Eagle Scout of Troop 254, Golden Acorn District. He is so glad to be in service today with his good friend Jim Fredricks. Additional information on Mr. Andre' can be found here.
Quote of the Week...

Food for Thought. . .

Thank you to Noreen McLaughlin for this week's reflection.  Worth the read. . .

“Your arms are too short to box with God”. This week I quoted that to a friend. While I can’t remember who it was, or why I said it, the phrase repeated in my mind for several days. I wondered where it had first been recorded: who had said it and why? If I discovered the answers to these questions, maybe I could explain it’s meaning to myself.  To read more, click here. . . .

Miles for a Mission

We have now surpassed our donation goal with a total of $22,024 for our 10th Annual 'Miles for a Mission' Race! Thanks to all who helped by fundraising, donating and getting sponsors. From an old video of Frederick Buechner.  If nothing else, not a bad definition for grace. . .

Going Deeper
